[Television] Looking for a new series to watch, any suggestions?

Yes, Luther's the best.
And Sherlock is probably a little better... but so few episodes.

Ripper Street is very solid. I like it a lot.

 

Why give Deadwood a shot if it has no proper conclusion? That sounds like a waste of time... but I want someone to convince me though.

 

The first two seasons of True Blood are absolutely FREAKING amazing. That was the first show to get me hooked on ....TV shows. Its so much deeper than all the other **** they throw out there nowadays. Its not just about vampires but a dynamic world filled with prejudice and discrimination with deeper meaning.

It drops off after the 4th season.

 

eh I don't think it is that deep... The first 2 seasons were pretty great but I dropped it midway through the 3rd.

Have Gun Will Travel - by far one of the greatest tv western tv of all time. Also has one of the greatest characters in tv history.

 

some story lines come to a conclusion, some don't. DO you think breaking bad is good? It has no conclusion yet.

 

True about Deadwood and while it doesn't have a tidy ending it does have some great characters and acting to enjoy.

Well, if breaking bad abrubtly ends, then it would be pretty bad to me even if the series as a whole was mostly decent. Probably just me.

 

Definitely try it out. I started watching about 2 weeks ago and now I'm totally hooked. Great acting, great plot, AWESOME action sequences. Just a really good all-around show.

This is true. The daughter Louise pretty much carries the show, but she carries the hell out of it. Just a consistently hilarious character. It's the only Animation Domination show I actually watch regularly, primarily because it doesn't follow the stale animated sitcom stereotypes. The dad isn't a moron, the mother is actually funny and has a personality, the three kids (2 of whom are girls) are featured prominently and 'gasp' actually get along and like one another. It's a fun show that gets plenty of laughs without resorting to toilet humor.


Other shows I'd recommend have already been stated (Archer, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire, Homeland, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead are all in my faves), but I don't see too many mentions of Justified in this thread. I must say, while Breaking Bad and GoT are probably tied for the best overall dramas on TV, Justified has to be the most consistently entertaining. The dialogue and one liners sprinkled liberally throughout every episode are second to none, and I swear there isn't a single unlikable character on the whole show. Even the bad guys/villains are all awesome. Just a smartly written and very well done series.

 

Walking dead, supernatural, American horror story are the top 3 non animated series I watch on TV.

AHS...well it's different than any show I've seen. It's a mix of creepy and definitely has its tense moments (but not too over-the-top "teen horror film" style).

Great acting I'd add.

 

Well, the last episode isn't exactly a series ender...but it does pretty much conclude Season 3 (the last season).

The reason to watch? Mr. Wu talking with Sweargen is enough reason alone.

Sons of Anarchy is the best show on TV and it isn't even close.
