McHale should have done it much earlier

Nah with a better coach still not a shot at 5th. Maybe a tad better than the Warriors.

I wouldnt want him. Even Larry Brown isnt Larry Brown anymore. Besides, he's coaching SMU and they went 15-17...

    Saw this on wiki.

Despite Brown's prowess in coaching and handling different egos and personalities, Brown has often been questioned for not playing rookies. He is also known for being hard on his point guards.

You're flat wrong. There is a measure of fandom on this site. 1) The site is about the Rockets (all of them); 2) it's pro-Rockets.

If people come to this particular site saying "This Rocket sucks. That memeber of the organization sucks" then they should expect backlash, because this site is pro-Rockets. Every damn game (this year!) people have to throw a Rocket under the bus. Well on this particular site, throwing someone from the Rockets organization under the bus is going to create friction. Are you actually surprised by that?

Go to 4chan if you want no compass and freedom from fandom. This is a pro-Rockets board. Yes, there is a measure of fandom here: it's pro-Rockets or not pro-Rockets.

well it looks like he's out today so lets weigh things in here

Harden has injured foot and Mchale says ok just rest.

    Or.

Mchale is sits his players because of some conspiracy most of the time.

well looks like Harden is injured. Looks like McHale wasn't just making statement but also resting him. Hopefully Harden can be 100% healthy comes playoff time. If he's injured why was McHale playing Harden 40+ min every freaking game?

Funny, because Wages of Wins analysis projected our team to win 40 games this year.

    http://wagesofwins.com/2012/10/31/nba-win-predictions-for-2012-13-volume-2-the-hand-crafted-edition/

    So we exceed their projections.

Also, WoW analysis evaluates coaches based on how well their rotations align with their WP48 metric. That is, "good" coaches maximize wins by playing the guys with the highest WP48 metric.

This is how WoW analysis currently rates our players:

    Code:
    [B]NAME POS GP MIN WP48[/B]
    James Anderson GF 20 158 0.272
    James Harden SG 69 2655 0.235
    Patrick Beverley PG 30 494 0.228
    Greg Smith C 59 851 0.178
    Omer Asik C 71 2132 0.161
    Chandler Parsons SF 70 2547 0.146
    Carlos Delfino SG 60 1523 0.120
    Thomas Robinson PF 13 188 0.108
    Jeremy Lin PG 71 2274 0.100
    Patrick Patterson PF 47 1219 0.081
    Marcus Morris PF 54 1154 0.011
    Daequan Cook SG 16 165 0.001
    Toney Douglas PG 49 913 -0.002
    Francisco Garcia SF 8 106 -0.007
    Cole Aldrich C 30 213 -0.035

You and a whole slew of fellow idiots in this thread are indicative of what's wrong with the GARM today. If you were all tossed, this would be a far better place to have a conversation.

I share the opinion that Harden is not the problem. His style of play of both O and D is a direct reflection of coach's concept of managing the team to win games. Putting more effort on D and cutting short on ISOs from Harden can be easily done, but as long as the coach has only a shaky trust in other talent on the team yet without a proper concept or game plan to provide consistently successful alternative, it's just oxymoronic that the coach would blame Harden for lack of D and too many ISOs.

And the best thing about this forum is how it often takes less than 24 hours for the late 2012ers to look like r****ds and this is no exception.

McHale gave away the Memphis game because he didn't have the balls to bench just Harden for his poor play. Parsons in particular was playing well and Asik and Lin were not playing badly. He should have just put Anderson for Harden and tried for the win.

Are you saying playing team ball sucks that you prefer ISO ball? I don't blame Harden ISO. It goes both ways. When you're not passing, your teammates won't move off ball. When your teammates don't move off ball, you don't have good opportunities to pass. ISO ball is really McHale's fault. He always talked about try not to make ball sticky but every time after timeout, it's always Harden ISO and nobody is setting screen for anybody so the other 4 guys are just standing around. I don't know the reason why McHale pull the starters in Memphis game. I think he already kind of knew Harden wasn't comfortable but I hope the other reason is because of defense. I don't know why you guys give free pass on Harden's defense. It is true McHale played Harden long min while he was the only one handled the ball on most possessions. I don't mind he got beat simply because he was a step slower. But to give no effort on defense because you were getting in position for rebounding, ball watching, or simply given up because you don't want to waste energy running a step closer and put your arm up, that's inexcusable. How many times opponents' SG got career night against us? Again I'm not bashing Harden. He's our best player. He can score and pass. He's not a selfish offensive player at all. But his defense is what it is. He really needs to put more effort on the other end. Like MJ said, the most prestigious awards a player can get are defensive awards because it shows you really put effort and dedication to the game you play.

He averages 8.7 FT per game and 26 PPG.

    You're really bad at math.

To be fair though, a majority of the troll posters, Carl Herrera aside, tend to be from those that joined in the past couple of years.

Ok BYE!!! WOW I actually read this! Unreal!

Mchale has been the engine for this machine, and he brings heart. McHale isn't JVG get over it brah!

OH and Corey Maggette was much sought out for (MOREY WANTED HIM), and was one of the best at getting to the line. I believe on year with GS he was playing better than Kevin Martin....HMMM....he sounds familiar...WAIT was Corey better than Kmart? yes, wait was this Rockets forum obsessed with a crappy underachiever in Kevin Martin who was picked up to play with Yao.

Look dude, Harden can't do everything. When he has been asked to play D he usually D's up. I will have to say the dude holds down D better than T-Mac (Who by the way was a GREAT DEFENDER when he wanted to be). But BYE!

HARDEN SHOOTS 16.9 FGS per GAME to those that are blasting him!!!! He gets us 26 plus points a game, and gets 2 steals (with CRAPPY D), and doesn't rebound that well for a bigger guard, and then he averages 10.1 FTs a game, and makes near 9 of them at 8.7...WHAT DO YOU POSTERS SEE THAT WE DON'T??

All I see is James Harden is MVP if LBJ wasn't playing this year, and it's his first year as a starter on the youngest team in the L. MY GOD. TO THINK...this place used to think AB was the future, and yet they can't see the FUTURE right in front of them!
JAMES HARDEN JAMES HARDEN JAMES HARDEN JAMES HARDEN JAMES HARDEN!
