If you think Robinson was getting worked by Hibbert, you either are a Patterson lover or you didn't watch the game. Possibly both. Robinson was not guarding Hibbert but maybe a couple times.
Ya Trob didn't guard Hibbert. It was Greg smith and the few minutes asik played who was getting worked. That was prob the worst defensive game iv seen by asik all yr. the thing that made me mad was mchale pulling Trob around the 7 min mark for delfino. We were down 5 and him and Greg smith got us back in the game in the first half and 4th quarter. This was a big mistake even though I understood why he did it trobs a rookie in his like 12th game with the team. Coach had more confidence in the vet delfino. Only thing is it was a mistake delfino immediately got abused by physco T first play in. Now back to the topic Trob is and always was the better player as I have been stating since we aquired him. He's a better rebounder and better defender by a long shot on top of that he doesn't foul as often and dare I say it he's a better offensive player also. This is the NBA not euro ball trobs game is tailor made for the NBA quick good basketball instincts has a go to NBA move to get a clean shot off and can run and jump out the gym. The NBA is about speed now post players are almost non existent. The rockets had the last post player who you could build around in Yao and not hating but dmo isn't Yao in the post and never will be. While his post moves are nice there not effective i don't know the numbers but I would be willing to bet that dmo shoots under 40% on post up opportunities so far. Trob has the higher upside and as he improves has a shot to be a Allstar top 5 pf in the game everything is there for him and he's a good passer and has high bball iq. It all depends on his work ethic but we know he's first one in last one out type of guy. He lives in the gym. He's showing why he was a top 5 pick. I'm glad the kings are idiots we got a steal and morey IMO just nabbed two Allstars in one yr that are young. Iv been watching Trob for 4 yrs now he's the real deal and gets better every game. The NBA is better for him than college because there's more spacing and he can beat any pf off the dribble in face up when he adds a mid range jumper lights out, Machale pls start Trob dmo does nothing on the court litterlly nothing.
I've always wondered why many Clutchfans users thought DMo was going to be a great player. Dude has had a few decent games.. but man, we can all see now why he wasn't playing before our two best PF's (Patterson; Morris) got traded.
Is it just me but does anybody else feel like T-Rob should start & D-Mo should come off the bench? I think it would benefit both players
Couldn't hurt. As it stands...there is absolutely no reason for DMo to be starting. He's been nothing but a liability on offense and defense thus far, minus a few games.
The knee-jerks are hilarious. They have two very different skill sets and no one knows how Trob would do had he been starting. He seems to have the better motor, but he is coming off the bench so it's easier to play with more energy as a sub. All this "I told you trob was better" crap is baseless and just reactionary projections now that Dmo has hit a rough spot. Truth is that both players are rookies, and from what I remember, rookies are known for inconsistency! I can't imagine how jammed up the offense would be having trob and asik on the floor for extended minutes. Knee-jerks are always looking for a scapegoat... whether it's Lin or whoever else.
Your right, it doesn't always but it did tonight. 22 minutes / 7-11 / 16 points Leading scorer on a bad night.
D-League does not translate to NBA.... Different set of skills in the NBA then in the D-League. T_Man
I agree that DMo has the quickness ala Dirk from Euro, but T-Rob has a lot of talent... He just needs to be groomed... The guy has some serious skills.. T_Man
I voted TRob because of his athleticism and aggressiveness on the boards but he has a long way to go to catch DMo who is a true 7 footer and much more skilled. This summer will be so important for each player, not just in terms of personal growth but also in team growth and in terms of offensive phylisophy. DMos post game should have a much bigger place in the offense next season as it is just to good to keep it just a passing consideration, perticularly on nights that the 3 ball s not falling and Harden is not attacking the rim.
Both are pretty equal as far as upside goes, but with opposite skillsets so its difficult to say which has higher upside. I would say that D Mo potentially has higher value just because he has such a rare skill level for a 7 footer, but we have yet to see what he will do with that skill and size. Both guys, even as raw players, also still have the ability to contribute and play a smaller role on a playoff team right now...Which is a huge plus. Right now that's about all I would expect from both of them. In the future though with a couple summers working their butts off, both players could be starters and be all star caliber for years.
Maybe T-Rob might have the higher upside, but he sure is involved in a lot more embarrassing plays, dribbling off his foot, missing bunny layups, throwing passes into the stands. At least D-Mo doesn't do that kind of stuff--worst he does is brick shot after shot. It is easy to picture a D-Mo that makes his shots and gets to post up more. It's hard to picture T-Rob making some of those wild layups he throws up.
Dmo's short arms and poor vertical actually gives him size disadvantage. There's a reason he's outside of the lottery, and his inflated euroleague rebounding number is accompanied by regressed offensive numbers. By the way, his euroleague rebounding is still well below our recent second round pick stashed overseas. Actually he's playing exactly what he's projected to play in the NBA, and he's much older than most prospects.
Terrence Jones I really think McHale should take a look at him because our PF production is not going to cut it and TJ seems ready. He can space the floor, block shots, rebound, handle the ball well and uses his body wisely.
