Unfortunately your basketball IQ is blinded by your bias against Lin. Obviously to any rational objective basketball fan if you're playing well but get benched 10-12 minutes you will cool off and not be as effective when you get back in. No other starting PG in the league gets treated this way. Don't you even wonder what's going on?? It's hurting your team you know.

I think they just ran into two very good defensive teams. Hibbert, Gasol, Randolph inside, Tony Allen, Paul George, Lance, etc outside.

Have the starters hit a rookie wall? We haven't been running and gunning for weeks now because everyone is gassed nearing the end of the season. This does not bode well for the playoffs (if we make it).

He's not wrong in this case. You want to beat a team like Memphis, you move the ball around and run them off the ****ing floor. If the rockets are playing more ISO ( which they have a tendency to do with harden ) then they are playing half court ball and don't have a ****ing chance against play off teams, especially Memphis and their defense.

You did say you like Lin so please ignore that I said you were biased. Please pay attention to the rest of what I said. If you sit for long periods of time when playing well you have to battle both the emotional letdown and the physical cooling off.

I'm glad McHale sat the starters tonight. They were inexplicably lethargic. Really didn't have their head in it tonight. Should've benched them all 5 mins into the first quarter.

You are ignoring the fact that this game was on the road, and tomorrow will be at home, and the Clippers will also be playing a back-to-back tomorrow.

You talk about our explosiveness. But we're facing arguably the best defensive team in the league, on their floor. 1/4 odds? That's what our odds would be if the score was 0-0 with 4 quarters left. But down whatever it was with 6 minutes to go, I would think the odds are much less than 1/4. The Grizzlies are not an easy team to make a comeback against.

Knew we were in trouble when it was a one point deficit first quarter with us shooting 71% at the three pointer.

I agree and disagree. I don't think Harden should be traded as he is a prodigious talent. Basically one of the top offensive talents in the league, IMO. I think defensive aptitude can come with time. However we do need a coach who can make the most of his players talents rather than just letting them wing-it and hoping for your star to always put on his hero-cape and save the world.

Ita also annoying that people like you keep saying **** like that without stopping to think. Lin isn't a true pg in this system, he doesn't run the offense or dominate the ball or have the vest opportunity to drive in the lane. Instead he's behind the arc a bunch and gets a bunch of 3s ( not his vest shot by far, thus inconsistent ). He's not going to take mid range shots, that's not the offense. Some sure, but not many. If anything, you should have been realistic about hsi numbers coming into the season 13 and 6 in his role is not bad at all, espeiclaly with solid d and 2 steals a game. All of you LOF/LOH are ****ing biased, its annoying to hear each side say it. God, you're and idiot

You must've just jumped in. Numerous posters have made that argument thus far. They do seem, however, to be slightly outnumbered.

You obviously didn't watch the Rockets last season.

LOF's have said that about numerous Rockets players.

Anyway, thoughts on the game: another game where the Rockets decide to not play defense. I really liked what McHale did. The starters weren't giving any effort on the defensive end, and especially Harden didn't give any effort on the offensive end. I don't get it, Harden drove maybe twice throughout the whole game. Wasn't aggressive, not looking for his shot. Just an apathetic game by end.

Defensively, all the starters seemed to not give a ****. Glad McHale benched 'em. The 3rd stringers played decent and they deserved to close out the game, just because they actually played with some damn effort.

I hate these games where the Rockets don't care about defense. Sigh..

Dwight Howard would neither raise the Rockets' IQ or add anything to their winning culture.

    I want Marc Gasol.

Well, I don't know if I think like McHale, but I see it differently: that surge that got it within reach was created by the bench, and they should naturally sustain it. That went fine until they started to get gassed, with maybe three minutes left. But then, it was too late to ask the starters to save it. That's even worse than benching them, benching them and then putting them in at garbage time.

Basically McHale gave the win/loss to the second unit, which is fine for an overall team. It was good for the second unit at least!

I have been a huge fan of Harden, but I was glad to see him on the bench with that look of concern.
