Absolutely ! Again, you don't want to put out effort, you BELONG on the bench.

McFail is no Popovich, those two names don't even belong in the same sentence. When Pop pulls this move, he does it with Veterans, not a bunch of 1st-4th year players trying to find chemistry with each other.

We don't have a back-to-back after the Clips game, at least so that won't be an excuse. 2 reasons were aligned tonight: poor starter play and the premise of the back to back.

10 games left, Rockets win 3 out 7. This team will not make the playoffs, they clearly want to watch them at home on tv.

Fu*ck Comcast, Fu*ck the refs, Fu*ck the NBA, and Fu*ck Stern!

Who knows...but when you watch them on both offense and defense there is a lot of confusion. I mean nearly every time on defense they don't know where to be and on offense it's like whatever, like they are calling up plays and screens on the fly.

when was the last time Pop did it? And he's got the rings to back it up. Just cause Phil Jackson makes him teams do yoga, it wouldnt seem strange if McHale made the Rockets do it?

No very often you see that every player who got in the game played over 20+ minutes.

Let's all hope McFail doesn't pull this trick in the playoffs. Not a good way with the potential of heading into the playoffs.

like i stated i nthe fire mchale thread, coach always comes on to his talk show with charlie p and brings up the ball getting sticky and not playing together as an offense. He was clearly referring to Harden as if Harden was the one choosing to go iso. My beef was he is the head coach do something about it, like benching him when #7 does something wrong. Looks like tonight, Mchale final did something about it. I'm back on the Mchale bandwagon*, where i was prior to the collapse last season.

*unless we miss out on the playoffs.

Definitely not a fan of McHale's coaching but I can understand him sitting the starters to a degree. For one, the bench was able to whittle down the deficit and was playing with more passion. Second, it's possible he felt that the starters were the ones who caused the big deficit, and he could have thought why would I believe they would be the ones able to overcome it based on their play earlier in the game. Third, we have the Clippers looming on the horizon.

Who knows it's not like the Roxs bench were playing against the entire Grizz's bench but one thing was for sure, the starters gave a crappy effort tonight.

He didn't give up, he send ing a message. You practice and practice over the same stuff and go out and play and you get the same results. It's time for the players to step up!

That makes sense if we're a high seed and a lock for the play offs.

Right now, we have the Lakers chasing us, and the possibility of a 6th seed with some luck and only 11 games left.

You do NOT throw ANY games this late in the season with play off seeding on the line unless they are specifically trying to get a worse seed... and if that's the case, then just SIT some of the Key Starters as DNP's. IE, why would you risk Harden, Parsons, Lin or Asik at ALL against a very physical Memphis team?

If McHale did this to rest the starters, it's an idiotic choice with the game down to 3 possessions and 6 minutes left.

If McHale did this to send a message, it's an idiotic choice with multiple teams fighting to get in the play offs and the possibility of falling out of the play offs STILL in play.

If McHale did this because he thought the Bench was going to bring us back, it's an idiotic choice as soon as Memphis brought their Starters back in.

I just can't see any rational reason why you wouldn't put your Best 5 players on the floor, whoever you think they are at that point. And there's no possible scenario from tonight were all 5 players on the bench were the "best" 5 we could have had on the floor.

There's no way to put it other than it's a Colossal blunder in my view.

So you are saying that they played poorly on purpose?

Let's see what the starters can do tomorrow night. They did not have it tonight. Parsons did played well on Offense but his D was not that good.
