the lower sidelines are the worst because tickets are sold and people aren't in their seats or tickets are sold and people didn't show up. those seats are sold for the most part...far more than in the upper decks...but upper deck seats get more used after purchased...and there are no bars to sit at in the upper decks that keep you from your seats

The commemorative cup you get more than makes up for the price.

Thanks for the suggestions... glad to know they are pretty good.

As has been noted by other posters, singling out Houston makes little sense given the size of the arena, the lack of a television broadcast agreement with CSN Houston and the local providers, as well as the lack of options to watch the game for fans who are not local.

I can call my provider and watch almost every NCAA game, almost every NFL game, and even a lot of Hockey games... but the Rockets?

Nope... NBA League pass or dodgy internet feeds is it.

Make the games available on a wider platform of providers, and this team would get a LOT more fans watching it. I do recall an interview where it was noted that Rockets games are one of the most popular alternate viewing choices on NBA League pass.

Get those games available through more mediums, and I think more people would watch it.

You can't turn over rosters every year and expect fans to stay engaged. True we weren't going anywhere with Luis and Patrick but the fans invest heart in players not intelligent GM's. Yes a championship would change things. But winning with Clyde and hakeem meant a lot to me. Winning one with players TBD this summer just doesn't feel the same. Perhaps that is why the Rockets signed Brooks. Throw us a bone to cheer on.

Baseball is far more popular than basketball. Pretty much the same in any market.

Good point. Hopefully Harden, Lin, Parsons, Asik will remain in Houston for the next season.:)

Wait that's really the name of the article?

The NBA Is Struggling To Survive In Both Houston And Indianapolis

    :grin::grin::grin:

You can tell he wrote the article unaware of the CSN debacle and after someone pointed it out to him he updated it rather than taking Houston out. Why was this even posted? We know Texas is football state and everything else is a second by far. Look at how much winning the Spurs need in order to keep fans tuned in. Same with the Mavs who have more championships than the Cowboys in the last 50 years.

When was the last time the Rockets won two rounds in the playoffs? How many playoff wins do we have in the last 15 years? It's one, right? Blaming the fans for lack of enthusiasm (especially this season) is stupid. Yay, we are back-to-back-to-back the best team in the lottery.

    Charlotte Bobcats arent worse?

Tickets are so cheap here, I was thinking about going to a Rockets game here in Charlotte when Houston came to visit

Seats behind the Rockets bench were only like 150-350 per ticket, depending how close you wanted to get.

Baseball is not far more popular than Basketball, and the Astros are barely getting any radio play compared to the Rockets.. what station do you guys listen to

Nook did you also know that the MLB has the oldest demo in the USA, and the NBA has the youngest. MLB TV Ratings are dropping while NBA TV ratings are increasing

NBA games are too long, the regular season is too long and the playoffs take forever

coupled with mediocre Rockets teams and no CSN Houston for much of the area, and you'll have a lethargic fan base

They had a big opportunity... when football season ended and the Texans fans were disappointed they were looking for some kind of pick me up. We were playing pretty good and it would have been a great time to get some hometown fans transitioned to the new team - we had just got Harden a few months earlier. People on twitter mentioned that they were going to check out what the Rockets were doing since football season was over. Well that opportunity window was closed thanks to the CSN situation and the sad part is that for a lot of people that aren't diehard fans like us, there is no second chance, sometimes that window is only opened once. It could threaten the future of the franchise, FA opportunities, and now advertising since only 40% of Houston can watch. CSN and all the owners of the station really need to take a long hard look at what this is going to do long term.

actually its baseball games that are insanely long and boring, and fyi the csn debacle affects the Astros as well

but back to my points if the NBA is struggling, then why are NBA TV ratings insanely high, and the MLB's not including ESPN games

NBA Finals has beaten the World Series in TV Ratings the past 3 years, and the NBA practically owns social media when it comes to the big 4 of sports
