I saw Allen Iverson play in his prime, and I still can't stand the guy.

The definition of the NBA stereotype that people still carry around with them to this day.

I didn't like Iverson all that much but I do respect his motor and fearlessness. The guy was 160 pounds, and he would attack the basket with reckless abandon.

I guarantee also that Jordan's Bulls was better than any other 90s team.

Lol at people disrespecting AI like that.

He may not have been the most all around player, but pound for pound he's the greatest point guard to have played in the last twenty years. The fact that he can drill any team for 40 on any night and still get the likes of Deke and Snow involved. Shame that the Nuggets GM had to put him with Anthony, they didn't complement eachother at all.

Skill-wise Iverson was legit. The cross-overs he had back in the day makes Uncle Drew look like Napoleon Dynamite.

Finally, each era had a style. True that the early 00's had some very individualistic play, but who the hell cares about that when the individuals were Shaq, Duncan, KG, and McGrady. I can tell you that it was a very exciting time to watch, when real superstars did battle.

Its actually pretty sad he probably won't make the HOF. I thought Mcgrady not making it would make a little bit of sense but early in his career AI was one of the most iconic guards to ever play the game.

I mostly feel bad for folks that did not get to see the game prior 2000 because it was very different. Post play was very important and the center play was far, far, far, far better than now. Rule changes and a lack of health has really hurt the center position (Oden/Yao).

Moses Malone, Kareem Abdul Jabar, Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Brad Daugherty, Ralph Sampson, Robert Parish.....

Instead we have Dwight Howard as an elite center, he wouldn't stand a chance against Olajuwon, Moses etc.

That's the truth. I tell kids all the time that DHoward is Otis Thorpe with more hops. Don't get me wrong, loved OT's game but he would never have been a franchise player.

Speaks volumes on the lack of the use of centers in this era. There's no excuse as to why guys like Larry Smith and even Blake Griffin weren't taught post play fundamentals when they were young. AAU has a lot to do with the centers downfall

I have very faint memories of pre-2000 basketball, and I feel cheated.

He didn't stand a chance against a prime Yao.

Yao used to smoke DH and out-rebound him too.

McGrady had a great all-around game when he was in Orlando and the first couple years in Houston.

Iverson was sometimes an amazing spectacle to watch, seeing this normal sized guy use his speed, hops, crossovers and determination.

    Yao Ming in his prime,

    Vince Carter... nuff said.

There was a lot of fun stuff in the late 90s/ early 2000s.

Nah, Iverson was his own special player. Those guys are all much bigger than Iverson but Iverson got it done at his height, probably one of the best players at such a small height and weight so yeah...pretty unique.

i already know you never saw the 90s nba and are absolutely a fake rockets fan.

these other people haven't even seen 00 basketball.

kobe was winning championships when mcgrady was not winning any playoff series.

OT was a much better teammate than Dwight.

Iverson took his team to the finals. Got to give him respect for that.

Vince Carter had a chance to beat the Sixers that year, but didn't.
