Of course people tune out the tournament when Tiger's gone. He's one of the greatest golfers of all time. It DOES matter whether he's great or not. No one would be rooting for Tiger if he sucked. This type of behavior I find is unique to Asians. Could you imagine the black community forming an attachment to say...Jannero Pargo?
I am only fan of Mchale only fan, I am only hater of Mchale only hater. Am I a fan or hater related to Mchale? To be fan or not to be, it doesnt matter of X stand for. Point of view will decide how good this team will achieve.
Ok, let's do another example. Just to make it easier. When Donovan McNabb went to play with the Redskins, he was pretty much washed-up, in my opinion. But once Mike Shanahan started benching him, there was a backlash in the DC community and people even started hinting that Shanahan may be racist. Now, McNabb was a very good player but certainly not on Tiger's level. So why this attachment? Because there has been a scarcity of African-American quarterbacks, I think. And so some fans will hold on to any African-American quarterback, even if that quarterback's time has passed. I think this is the same for Lin. And, just as with African-American quarterbacks, I think this time will pass. When there are more African-American quarterbacks and there are more Asian ballers. If you think this is a unique thing to Asians, I would say you don't understand very much about human nature.
McNabb was a great player. What are you talking about? Tiger's an all-time level athlete so almost nobody's on his level. But McNabb was still a great player. It's more comparable if you compared the situation with someone that's at the bottom 5% of the league. And there's nowhere near the noise that Lin discussions create.
One of THE stupidest statements I have ever heard. And that's saying a lot. Ok, so here's another "it is what it is" situation. See how you like this one. There has been only one African-American Super Bowl winning quarterback in 47 Super Bowls. So, I guess that African-American quarterbacks just aren't cut out to be winners. It is what it is. You see how stupid that sounds? I hope you do.
Not even close to the same, but seeing as you're probably Asian, I probably hit a nerve. So I'm gonna do us both a favor and call it a night.
I can't spend any more time talking to you. You just don't know what you're talking about, or you are fixated on a false set of concepts. Take care. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/11/10/AR2010111004998.html
Not trying to pick a fight but I agree with PhiSlamma. Oh and Tiger is a pimp son. I started watching him golf because of the whole shabang. All the greats have dabbled around here and there.
We joined because we believed in Clutch and Jeff's vision of site for hardcore rockets fans. We believe in clutch city.
I only know you are a 99er and your loyalty to clutch city is pure. You have seen Olajuwon , you know x only fans could never understand clutch city . Never.
Hakeem was the man. I remember "hamstring-gate" and all the times before Hakeem finally got his just due. Those were great years!
Wow man, you're really racist. Anyway, Asian people do make good athletes but obviously you're not gonna see Asian athletes in sports they don't usually play. For example, sports like badminton is dominated by Asian population. It's really popular in Asia, and hence why you see many Asian athletes.
