Everyone knows that Asik Lin and Dmo played flat today and hopefully it won't be a reoccuring thing. Atleast not with Asik because he is so important to our defence. But Harden's defence has seriously been terrible that its starting to cost us important games. His off ball defence has got to be on par with Kobe bad if not worse. This puts the entire defensive rotation off. He has got to pick it up!
under some circumstances, superstar don't need to defense.Harden is superstar but not the real winner if he can't rectify his flaw.
Actually, he did great on George tonight.. but I forgot if it was him guarding George or Parsons.. I think a combo. But yeah he needs to play better team defense. That's also coaching though.
I specifically saw a play where Harden started ball watching, his man slipped away to the top of the arc on the opposite side and knocked down an open 3. There were other similar instances throughout the game, with some ending in points and some not.
Yes, his D hasn't been very good but it's been like this most of the season. His role/minutes aren't going to change so we shouldn't expect anything more than what we've been seeing.
At least Harden has the excuse of having a huge burden on offense. I'm always surprised at how little criticism Parsons, Lin, Delfino, DMo, Smith, etc. gets when the Rockets defense falter. They're basically role players on offense yet can't seem to put in top effort on D night in and night out.
bad attitude. don't you learn something from the game? pacers has already displayed what makes them a strong defense team. everyone committed.
Lin gets a free pass on defense? Lol, some here even suggest that Lin is getting lit up while sitting on the bench. DMo has been as a defensive liability since day 1 and there is a bandwagon thread calling for his demotion to the bench. More importantly, all those players actually give some effort on defense while Harden's output on D is scant.
Everyone on the rockets is committed. They don't know how and don't have the discipline to play great team defense.
