Yeah, the NBA is toooootally legit: <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/0HhkVStaY90?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
last second shots are hardly called, refs swallow the whistle rather than letting free throws decide the game. although with that said, if that was Kobe shooting that shot and Rubio was the one contesting the shot, it would have been a foul. Better for Minny to lose, than to win anyway, in terms of draft picks, so they should count their lucky stars.
Thats amazing considering just last night they called a cheap offensive foul on Blake Griffin in Dallas in the last .6 seconds on a shot he made and the Clips went on to lose the game. Then they turn around and not make a call here... they are so inconsistent its sickening.
Dear god. A foul doesn't get more obvious than that. He got all arm and wasn't even close to having the ball. Disgusting.
First of all....Who the **** fouls rubio on a half court 3? Are you kidding me? What a low IQ play by Kobe. And the official saw that completely.
That was a criminal no-call. And yes if that was Kobe shooting, Kobe would have been at the line for 3 foul shots with an opportunity to tie the game and send it to overtime. This is yet another example of why there is so much hatred for the Lakers out there. Kobe got away with murder. Rubio should have gotten the chance to tie the game at the line with 3 free throws. Just because it is the closing seconds, the referees shouldnt swallow their whistles and allow players to blatantly foul others just because the game hangs in the balance in the last precious seconds. That referee should be fined, suspended, publicly reprimanded and lose game checks... Something to acknowledge the pathetic and obvious mistake he made that very well might have affected the final outcome of that game. This is a travesty and a great piece of evidence as to the core problems of the NBA today. The right calls are not made because of bias towards certain players and teams. Sad...
Was it a bad no-call? Of course But let's step away from the ledge please.... Should every ref be "fined, suspended, publicly reprimanded and lose game checks" when they make/miss a call that helps decide the outcome of the game? Please....get real....
In all seriousness, are you a closet Lakers fan? Unless I am mistaken, it seems like you do a lot of defending of Kobe and the Lakers anytime people rip them...
^^^ And I don't mean that in a negative way, just curious. I make it no secret that I root for the Heat as well as the Rockets, originally being from South Florida.
In all honesty I really am not. Strictly Rockets for me. In fact...the Lakers are right behind the Spurs and Mavs as my least favorite teams. However...I do find it utterly ridiculous that literally every...single...time...the Lakers win, people think the refs were pretty much the only reason, especially when we have James Harden, who is notoriously one of the biggest exploiters of foul calls in the NBA. I do enjoy seeing the Lakers lose, and I am hoping they miss the playoffs (even though I don't think that will happen), but I'm always going to be objective, and people act like the Lakers would go 0-82 if it weren't for the refs (obvious exaggeration, but you get my point). And as for Kobe...I'm not a huge fan, but I definitely respect the dude's game. Any objective person has to understand how good Kobe's career has been and how much he has accomplished in his career. When I see people say that Kobe isn't even in the Top 20-30 all time, despite what he's accomplished, I just find it ridiculous. It's not even defending so much as just respecting career accomplishments without bias. Not saying the refs aren't guilty of favoring the Lakers at times, and possibly more than any team, but it's grossly exaggerated on this website.
let's see if the league office follows up on their precedent earlier this month and issues a statement about the ref missing a foul call here (see koby/dahntay)......somehow, in this case, in this scenario....i doubts it..
Stats on Kobe this year: FGA/game = 25 or more, Lakers are 3-11 FGA/game = 15 or less, Lakers are 15-3 FGA/game - 12 or less, Lakers are 7-0
post FG% of teammates during those games....he shoots more to begin with because the other guys aren't their converting the easy shots he sets up for them. SMH
KEVIN DING @KevinDing 20m Kobe on possible foul on last play vs. Rubio: "They're not going to call that s***."
