I have seen most TV shows but I wanted to know if you had any suggestions. The show can be new or old. I just want it to be good. If a certain season a show is better than others, please let me know.

I just started watching Game of Thrones. 2 episodes in, and I'm already hooked.

The only two on that list I haven't seen are

    The Americans
    Sons of Anarchy

I thought about watching the Americans tonight. I am not a big Keri Russell fan. But maybe she is better in this than I think she will be.

Sons of Anarchy just doesn't seem to catch my eye. Is there something in this show I am missing?

I'm assuming you've watched the wire, and the sopranos.

We just started the Tudors. The Borgias is next. Rome was worth watching.

Looking for drama or comedy? TV drama has gotten tremendously better over the last few years -- it's also a cause/reaction to the fall of quality cinema.

I have barely watched television over the last few years and after having lived in Europe for a couple of years, I figured I would "jump" back in with a good amount of free time lately. I still rarely, if ever, watch live TV, other than sports. I thought maybe there were some interesting shows in Europe. Nope. They all watch American TV series.

So what got me hooked into watching TV series more? Breaking Bad. Just an incredible show...the writing, the foreshadowing. Incredible.

So when I caught up with BB, I started going back to recent series I remember people raving about -- which I would say started with Lost. I always told myself I would watch Lost, but not until 1) I had free time that I felt I couldn't use more productively and 2) when I could get the DVDs and watch a whole series in a day or two (which was sort of true...Netflix helps!).

Still haven't finished Lost, but I did get into Mad Men. Almost through season 4 and at this rate I might as well finish it. Maybe it's me, but comparing it to BB, you can definitely tell what Mad Men lacks in/where BB shines. It might just be the evolution of television writing in the last couple of years, but Mad Men has been, in general, predictable and a bit of a snoozer at times. BB had its lulls as well, but you always felt the sense that you weren't getting somewhere.

Another show I'd suggest: American Horror Story. [So far] two season; same actors, completely different story line.

Because I know you're going to get the same shows over and over:

    Lost Girl - Syfy
better than I anticipated Kensi, the side kick, is hilarious and one of the main reason the show is so good.

    Happy Endings - ABC
the best comedy you aren't watching.

Suburgatory - ABC another comedy that is surprisingly witty

    Orphan Black - BBCAmerica
Premiers this saturday. A show about a girl that finds out she is just one of a host of clones. I haven't seen it but I've heard good things; ill be tuning in

Arrow - CW it's good. a lot of characters and nods to the DC universe.

Continuum - Syfy Time Travel. need I say more?

Suits - USA Slacker obtains job at Law firm without Law degree.

Deadwood. The best television show I've ever seen aside from MAYBE Breaking Bad.

Battlestar Galactica. If you can get past the name, you'll find a really interesting and believable space opera.

Dallas (new one) Ok, its a guilty pleasure but its actually decent.

American Horror Story. Very well made but obviously a show that only a certain type of person would like.

Really depends on what you like and what you're looking for. Big difference between a sitcom and a drama.

I agree with Dagger on Battlestar. I'm not a huge scifi nerd by any means, but I do enjoy them from time to time. BSG is the best TV sci fi show I've seen.
