I don't like to get bundled up in the Lin talk a lot but the coach is really f**cking with his minutes.

If anyone thinks that screwing around with a players minutes won't make him less confident and consistent is on crack.

Dude is scared to do anything because he doesn't want to get benched.

Mchale knows better than putting Beverly in for his defense. it's all about going harden. That s just awful when the refs do not call the fouls.

lin's confidence is shaky. He is def looking over his shoulder. At times, he is forcing it and trying to make a play so he can stay in the gm, which leads to him jumping in the air with nowhere to go or forcing the pass
we all know if McHale was running basketball ops, lin would not be on the roster

he and asik have the shortest leash

Agree with you on those two. When you're not the max player...not much you can do about it. Harden's 6/24 shootings did way more harm then those 3 TOs by Lin. Also, Lin's aggressiveness (aka high TO games) have proven to be very successful...that's all I have to say.

I suspected the OP's explanation would be anything but Jeremy Lin.

Are we watching the same game? Lin was pulled out of the game EARLIER in the 1st, because he made two errors in a row. It's more about what he did than what Bev. didn't do, at least that's what the coaches saw & care.

Either we get McHale out or we just trade Lin for a good PF and let Harden play PG full time. I think this is what McHale wants. Paying Lin a premium and not using him isn't so good for the Rockets. What Rockets need is a good BIG, a very good BIG.

    Which is more likely?

A player performs inconsistently, has poor performances at times, which results in his coach sitting him on the bench occasionaly, in favor of a different player who is performing better.

    or...

A coach gives a player inconsistent minutes just for the sake of it, knowing that it results in poor performance in the future, but do it anyway because he likes to give said player inconsistent minutes.

"him jumping in the air with nowhere to go or forcing the pass", because whenever Lim penetrates, all others stand on 3pt line. Not a single one follows up to get rebound.

Against bad teams maybe. I see the Pacers defense similar to how Lin plays against the Heats.

I agree. Lin's 3 consecutive turnovers leading to 6 easy points put the Rockets in 22-9 hole.

    One day....

    ONE GLORIOUS DAY......

A LOF will call out Lin for his shortcomings instead of blaming others for the same.

Alright so that's 6 of 22. Who is responsible for the other 16? Because Paul George didn't score until the fourth quarter.

There's plenty of blame to go around. Everyone knows and says as much that Lin didn't play well in the first quarter. You've clearly missed those posts.

To be frank, we all know athlete play their best when they are in the zone. When you are worry of making mistake and getting benched, you are not going to be in that state.

People play best when they have trust from the coach.

I don't believe confident is nothing to do with coach's trust.

It does feel that is especially true for JLin. He seems to be like a guy that really needs coach's trust to maintain his confidence and energy. I think his performance is very emotion driven. Most young players are. His inconsistency is vastly due to his own unstable performance, but one can argue that the short leash held by McHale is causing Lin some emotional burdens, which effectively lowers his performance. I don't think anyone can argue benching your starter for the entire 4th qtrs does not stress the player. Lin just needs to handle it, which from interviews he sounded like he's doing pretty well, but he's still young, guess it still gets in his head a bit.

Omer Asik was benched as much as Lin tonight but none of the LOF noticed that. Lin sucked big time in the first quarter and just kept on turning the ball over. Just like Lin couldn't clearly defend Parker in the San Antonio game. I love JLin and became a Rockets fan again bec of him but I also know how to separate facts from opinion.
