but he's not. It's not like Allen Iverson with a bunch of nobodies on the 76ers, play off the ball sometimes. And when he plays horrendously people have to hold him accountable rather than fall back to the standard "well he got X assists, he's the best player on the team"

Look at Paul Pierce, he doesnt have to take every freaking shot down the stretch. Today Jeff Green got the game winning lay up.

1/10 games that he loses versus the other 9 he wins for us? I'd say its worth it. This team would be a bottom tier lottery team without him.

Or have a coach that put players in the best position to play to their strengths.

you are absolutely right. the way the McFail gives the minutes to Lin when he plays good or bad, just upset me. I don't know what the deal is if he lets him to be the starter. I rather have Lin coming off the bench if he rotates him this way.

Exactly. All arguments comparing treatment b/n Lin and Harden are silly. The context is exactly what Karolik is saying -- maybe not 10x, but the idea is right.

I get so annoyed by the simplistic logic here. It's the same kind of lazy emotion-fueled logic that causes half the conflicts in the real world.

Faster, quicker, better defender, passer, penetrator, dribbler, assist/turnover ratio. Parsons shoots and scores more. A lot of his wide open shots are passes from Lin.

With all that their value is actually pretty close because McHale has effectively minimized Lin's contribution to the team.

Yeah, I know. But its not like steals aren't as important as bouncing around like Toney Douglas on d. Not knocking beverley, he's a decent backup that hustles. A spark. Shouldn't be playing 28 minutes a game though.

I agree with you. The point of my posts has been to quit blaming "McFail/McSuccess," because after he started making substitutions, we played them to a draw. It was not an issue of substitutions: it was the slow start that killed us again.

Let's look on the bright side: ya boy Greg Smith had 19 rebounds and 18 points (which is maybe a career high for him?). Love that kid.

Is that supposed to be some sort of moral victory? The Pacers are a terrible team on the road.

So you are OK with Harden playing the entire game, making him play offense and then DEFENSE. How the hell can you give yourself 100% playing defense and then trying to score? Have you play basketball? So are you ok with the team rotation?

Just like the Texans are doomed with Kubiak we're not going to, IMO progress with McHale. Please do the right, smart thing for the Rockets Mr. Alexander.

Someone asked me to back up my opinion with stats, and that's what I did. Perhaps you should do the same before replying? If you did, you'd see that Beverley has a better +/- on the season than Lin, not just tonight. I know looking only at +/- is flawed, but it is still an undeniable stat.

Repeating for the last time, I do NOT like Lin's playing time tonight at all. But, I also don't like to see folks making this into a Lin vs. Beverley argument. I thought Lin played fine; but so did Beverley. I give credit where credit's due.

Yes. It's on Lin to learn, but I think coaches do have their favorites as far as players goes. Whether he hates Lin or just harder on him to succeed we don't know. Harden, I can agree since he's a max player...but Parsons isn't a superstar or consistent....
