    That's how you change quality. Cache should always be 9000.

    Ok, so to solve the strange skipping issues, uninstall VLC player and remove the cache on uninstall, re-download latest version. Seems to have fixed my issue.

    There is a simpler solution with the same end product.
    Go to start/apps page (win 8) -> VLC -> Search "Reset vlc player preferences and cache"
    Good thing it fixed your problem tho!

    For some reason, my feed is just stopping after about 45 seconds of play. No clue why.

    I figured it out. I was messing with some of the options during halftime and thought I had set everything back but missed something. Running fine now.

    VLC HD stream was great! was sloppy and freezing at first but after I adjusted the cache it was smooth sailing rest of the way.

    In vlc go to media -> open network stream -> Paste the desired link (top to botton=high to low; consider switching to a lower stream if it hangs) -> check show more options -> change "caching" to "9000" -> hit play
