The top two are definitely either Harden or Wade.

I would still put Bryant at the top earlier this season, and I can't call him the best SG when he refuses to utilize the best pure PG in the league and the best center in the league. He puts up numbers but he doesn't put up wins.

Regardless, Kobe will get first team this season, and maybe a first team all defensive honor as well.

Didn't mean you, I meant the person who I was replying to in the comment you quoted.

I think Wade is #1 followed by Harden. You could also make a case for Iggy and Ginobili

You are not being a homer if you think Harden is the best 2 guard and you are not being a rockets hater if you think he is not. Personally I think it is too close to call between Harden and Wade, and that Kobe is barely behind the two of them.

The article does a good job of showing how close the three players are, that there are a lot of factors to consider, that each player is strongest in certain areas, and that it is fun discussion to have with no clear answer.

I don't think he's passed Kobe or Dwyane yet. What he does in the playoffs can change that.

Harden could be the Magic of SG's. He can just flat out find so many ways to get it done night in night out. Overall? Debatable. Playmaking? Harden and its not even close. To have his name mentioned along the lines of these great players is an accomplishment in itself.

I said yeah in the other thread, but I think I jumped the gun. It's arguable that he is better, but it's really close, and I think you give the edge to Wade and Kobe just off what they've accomplished and proven already. We still haven't even seen Harden in the playoffs. Harden will take that spot next year for sure though.

What the hell? How is Harden a better playmaker than Wade? The Magic of SGs? Don't make me laugh. Almost as bad as the T-Jones is going to be as good as Dwight thread.

Right now James Harden is the best shooting guard in the NBA. Which is amazing when you consider that he wasn't even a starter until this season, is only 23 years old and on a new team with a new system.

Wade is a better defender than Harden, but he has had nagging injuries and has slowed down a little bit. He reminds me of Drexler when he joined Olajuwon on the Rockets, he picks his minutes... but Wade has not been consistently good like Harden.

Kobe is a classic example of a guy letting other parts of his game suffer so he can continue to score 27 points a game. On the surface Kobe is the same player he used to be, but he isnt. His defense is really bad and inconsistent at this point. Kobe has been worse defensively than Wade or Harden. He has not made his teammates better and has shot his team out of as many games as he has won. He is a 1st ballot hall of famer but he is not the player he once was.

Harden is absurdly efficient, consistently scores 25 points a game and is the best passer of the elite shooting guards. His defense is improving, but not where it needs to be. He plays at an exceptional level at times (Durant/LBJ) but at other times is hot garbage. Still he gets the most out of his teammates and has proven capable of getting off his shot anytime he wants.

Right now Harden is not at the peak level Wade or Kobe has been in the past, but right now Harden is the man and only getting better.

I think if I had an option to temporarily trade Harden for either Wade or Kobe JUST FOR THIS SEASON, I'd do it. Both play better defense and can score just as well as Harden, and are more than proven elites. But in 1-2 years, Harden will be the undisputed best 2 guard in the league.

First, the best passing shooting guard I have even seen is T-Mac. He had an amazing natural aptitude.

Having said that, I think Harden is an elite passing shooting guard and on par with Wade, if not better. Wade was handling point duties for the Heat when he had his best assist seasons. Harden is playing with a point guard that is a fairly high usage player.

James Harden is now Magic Johnson.

    Terrence Jones is Dwight Howard.

Donatas Motiejunas is Dirk Nowitzki "with a better post game" LMAO.

    Chandler Parsons is Scottie Pippen.

    Royce White is Dennis Rodman
