I think some people are assuming Howard signs outright and leavess 30 MILL on the table. I fully expect a S&T sending out Asik,Parsons and whatever else to make the numbers work. Harden and Howard alone are a gruesome twosome, and Morey could fill out a roster around them quite easily I would think.

Why would Rockets sign and trade?

Why would Howard leave money on the table?

He doesn't get the extra year in the new CBA in a sign and trade

I already responded to the on-court situation. Since you're being needlessly cynical and aggressive on here, I'd like to point out that Howard has just as much injury history as Kevin Love does. He broke his hand in a freak accident. People usually recover 100% from that type of injury. Dwight has back issues that are notorious for plaguing people for their entire lives. He's also had labrum issues this season ontop of it.

In any case, he'd give up his bird rights to sign here. It's not happening. So why am I the one being irrational when you're the one who's being the aggressor for a a chain of events that is very, very unlikely?

Under the new CBA S&T does not really work. The player can't get the extra year when doing a S&T. So whether we sign him outright (Ugh) or S&T for him he still just gets 4 years with us. There is no way to sign Dwight for more than 4 years. The Lakers have the advantage when it comes to signing him and I sincerely hope they do it. Do not want the Dwightmare here causing locker room cancer.

How is he a locker room cancer? Only thing that would ever classify him anywhere close to a locker room cancer was the Dwightmare which is over. He was never a cancer before that, and isn't this year.

    Very biased statement without facts.

    Due to injuries:

Dwight missed about 20 regular season games in 9 years.

KLove missed over 100 games in 5 years.

Some of them are even mentioning Harden, Parsons, and Asik. Even though they acknowledge that we probably wouldnt do the trade, it's pretty ridiculous for them to even entertain that thought.

My bad on the # of games part. But back injuries are typically far more pesky and troublesome on athletes. Even in non-athletes back injuries are more often life changers than not. Kevin Love has had his hand broken and does not rely on athleticism to play his part.

You responded to someone else argument not mine...i stated much better analysis and support to my argument to your thoughts...

Dwight by no means is as injury prone as love... The time missed comparison is ridiculous... Love had missed bunches and Dwight not so much...

I never spoke on the likelihood of signing him, only the premise and idea of signing him and how it would help and benefit this team tremendously...

I honestly think Dwight resigns with lakers, but i think they're is a possibility of signing him... Even tho i see it as only about 25% chance... But that chance reaps of benefits worth taking...

Being sore out bothered is not injury prone... Getting injured and missing times multiple times of being injury prone...

That's like saying Kobe is injury probe because he is always bothered by injuries yet never misses time... Or tom Brady, who us always on the injury list yet didn't miss a game...

Laker fans are spoiled and too far removed from reality.

I would though trade Harden for Pre-injury Howard in a heart beat

Trading Harden for Dwight would be ridiculous. James is younger, healthier, and ascending. Adding Howard in any other way is court smart and team chemistry risky.

Lakers have the upper hand with him. If they promise to build around him with the right players, using their resources, he'll stay where he is.

Dwight's attitude is what worries me. Kobe can't even keep Howard from sounding like McGrady 2.0 with the excuses and whining. Is Harden going to be able to get more out of him on the court and get him to man up overall? I doubt it.

It is still a gamble Morey will take but I think it will take McHale and Harden turning into Phil Jackson and Michael Jordan as leaders to get this guy to take the game seriously and keep his mouth shut off the court.
