Is it possible that Morey is doing nearly nothing this summer?

You really dont think that josh smith wont help us but jefferson would?? Smith is a very versatile defender all he lacks is bball iq which i agree he prob will never really have. But between the two Smith is a far superior player, Jefferson has an ok post /midrange game but brings very very little other then that.

On the contrary, I don't think he will go to Houston either lol I hope so tho but he will team up with dwight, Smith and Paul in Atlanta, they have the cap space for it too with only horfords contract on the books for next season. Easily title contenders, all they have to do is collude like the big 3

    2. Twill, Royce White, changing the whole roster. Daryl clearly doesn't care about chemistry.

    This is just stupid.

Josh alone wont help. It was mentioned already to lure Dwight and Josh but for McHale the attidude is important. Unless Hakeem dream shakes Dwights head around this summer i dont think McHale would be so happy to have him with the team. It is also about what the Coaches and Daryl think about T-Rob and his upside. Especially how the game is now Power Fowards showing their real potential in the second year. This is also important if you go after Josh.

Wouldn't be a bad move. We're going to make the second round of the playoffs with the youngest NBA team. We're so young we'll improve just with time... Imagine D-Mo bulked-up, or T-Rob making FTs, or TJ getting to play... I think Morey can be patient now, wait for the right opportunity to present itself.

TWill is gone and never realy played any role for the Rockets and Royce will never play a game for the Rockets.
Did you expect Daryl would try to trade for Harden??? So if Lebron opts out and we will still have enough room under the cap Morey will go after him. Morey will do little steps this summer if he thinks none of the free agents this year would help this team.

They need to dump their brain dead coach. Vinny Del r****d. Also have a lot of dead weight on their roster like Lamar Odom who is about to expire. After they upgrade their coach and replace trash like Odom with quality players they can contend.

All of this talk about Howard and chemistry is kind of stupid. Howard helped Orlando win there and got along mostly. Yeah he has an ego but most superstars do. Not too many in the league have bigger egos than Kobe and Shaq, together they were the worst combination arrogant egomaniac personalities to share the same uniform yet they managed 3 championships together.

Howard seems to managing to co-exist with Kobe much better albeit not a lovefest. And the thing is we do not have a team of malcontents. The worst player we have on our squad rides a winnebago in the valley.

Chemistry is something you can't always predict but history is about as much as you can go by. TMac was a primadonna most of his career and we thought he was worth it. I can't be sure but my gut says Howard will never be as bad as that and Tmac wasn't that terrible until the end. Lebron was thought to have one of the biggest egos when he left Cleveland but he managed to tne it down to the point he and Wade could coexist for the sake of winning.

The Rockets have great chemistry. If any team can absorb a slightly arrogant and attention hungry w**** we can. Think about it we have a team of players who buy into winning above all else and our only star doesn't have such an ego that he would not be willing to take a bit of a back seat for another superstar. In fact I would say Harden is one of the least attention seeking stars in the league. You ever watch him in an interview he doesn't seem to really enjoy them and is ready to exit a soon as they start. He is getting better but I think he would have no problem having less limelight. He just wants to win. Howard can have that star label on this team and get his fair share of low post attempts and still let Harden be our go to guy down the stretch. And all will be happy in Rocketville. Not so true for a Kobe led Laker team.

So I see no problem with Howard fitting in with this squad. That being said the chances of us landing Howard are slim and none. First he has to walk away from a lot of money. Second he has to walk away from a lot of potential fame in L.A. and third he has to walk away from a lot of money and fame. Plus the Lakers have a history of winning. I think he just wants LA to promise the team is his now and I think the will do that and more Max Money and max headlines. That will all but seal the deal. Do you expect LA to do anything less. Kobe is history in 2014 , hell they might even amnesty him by the trade deadline. Yes Cuban may be right. Next year having Kobe will cost them a whopping 85 milion. Even if they don't amnesty him Kobe and Gasol are off the books and it then becomes the Lebron James sweepstakes all over again with LA front and center with no one coming close to competing and lebron making the DECISION sequel.

I don't see Howard leaving but I am sure Moorey will take him if he does. Only this time don't sent the Red Rowdies and an Ipad to make a bid.

Iggy is playing out of position (shooting guard) in Denver which is why his numbers are down but you saying he is doing horrible is you only paying attention to the stats and not watching him play.

And you saying Josh Smith is a better perimeter defender tells me you don't watch Atlanta games...lol..

But Iggy has a $16 million player option so I'm sure he will pick it up and stay in Denver unless they trade him...

    Sweet argument

What I posted was an in depth statistical analysis of perimeter defense that suggests Josh Smith is by far the best perimeter defender in the league. Your counter argument amounted to 'you are ignorant'.

Josh Smith at 1st and Iggy at 2nd place.

That list takes into account Smith spending one-third of his time at the 3. Would that be true with the Rockets? Seems he'd be almost exclusively a 4.

Might be splitting hairs. The important thing is the guy can defend.

Thanks for posting that, I'd seen that list but forgotten it.

More than anything, I would like to see our backup SG/SF position being solidified. We are riding Harden and Parsons like a Secretariat!!! We risk injury with extended playing time. We need them to take a breather before the playoffs!

Nice post! You stated that D12 is an attention hungry w**** to which I totally agree.
I think this is precisely why he seems to be able to co-exist with Kobe, because this is
all being played out in TinselTown! I think that NY OR LA are the only places where he
will reign in his ego because he want's to be there.

I'm not sure that he would try as hard elsewhere, there are no movie-stars and flashing
    cameras here.
It's not the chemistry of the people here but the chemistry that's inside
him, the chemistry that he brings to the table which seems to only desire the lime-light.
