You can always play Dwight at PF and Asik at C.

That's just two big clogs in the paint, assuming Dwight will go into LeBron shut up and play mode I would rather sign Dwight and trade Asik + Trob/fillers for a true power forward who can stretch the floor for us.

My friend. Dwight Howard is a game-warping force on both ends of the court, he's 27, he plays at the hardest position to fill, and he's a free agent available at a time when we have max cap room to spend. Maybe his back's a problem, maybe it isn't, but that's for the team physicians to determine.

Jordan pitched a b!tch-fit when the Bulls traded Oakley for Cartwright, fought with teammates in practice, and generally made an ass of himself during his time on the Wizards. Kobe talked trash about his teammates, demanded a trade a few years back, and raped a woman in Colorado. Garnett is a legendary prick and won't waive his no-trade clause so the Celtics can rebuild. Shaq regularly whined about touches, feuded with Kobe, and took terrible care of his body. Don't even get me started on Sheed.

You can call all the guys mentioned above all kinds of things, but you can't forget the one they all share: champion. It's great when a superstar is humble and a model citizen like Timmy Duncan, but he's the exception, not the rule. These guys are top-10 in the world at their jobs - that they have massive egos shouldn't surprise you. The league's history is chock-full of jerks and headcases who nonetheless led their teams to victory. The fact is that if we get Dwight and he's healthy, we are first-tier contenders for the next five years.

I'm curious - if not Dwight, what superstar do you think we should get?

So you're saying Motiejunas can defend transition points?

I'm pretty sure Dwight can run too. He's not a stiff.

I don't know man. Watching Dwightgate happening in Houston won't be as fun as watching it happen somewhere else.

Guy is a monster, true. But I wonder if he would fit with Harden, Lin, Parsons, etc.

This...The only reason Dwight leaves the Lakers is if the organization decides to move away from Dwight(which wont happen...they are trying to phase out Kobe Bryant)

It's not a matter if whether or not he leaves. No one knows. Better question is what probablitly do you give it. I'd say its like 40%

It's the guards (and SF) job to get back to prevent initial transition points. Typically, it's the PF and Center's job to attempt offensive rebounding (this is not the case for a few teams, like the Celtics, who have KG to get back in transition, while Rondo crashes for the offensive board). Transition defense is more about early threat neutralization than anything else, which only really requires 3 people (unless teams go small, and the PF is someone who can run the court like a LeBron James- but in most cases, small line ups increase the probability of offensive rebounds), 5 people.

You have excellent writing skills and I don't disagree with one word you said, I also appreciate
you being civil in responding to my post.

    I highlighted some key points:

(1st) that D12 is far superior on both sides of the court than Asik, on this we both agree.

(2nd) that even though he is 27yrs old his actions are very immature, trashing his teammates
in Orlando, trashing Kobe (superstar), getting his coach fired, holding Orlando hostage with his
refusal to commit on way or another to signing long term.

If the only criteria on which to decide the merritt of acquiring Dwight are his numbers then hands
down we should go full throttle after him
, but I also think that it's just as important to get someone
who will be able to co-exist with the players surrounding him especially Harden (our superstar)!

We have a solid young foundation in Harden/Asik/Parsons/Lin. They play unselfish and they have
good chemistry between them. A chemistry that can be easily altered by injecting an immature
prima-donna into the mix. I think his immaturity will resurface once again the moment something
doesn't go his way! I have a gut feeling that if we acquire him the Rockets are going to be doing
"The Royce White Limbo"(x10) just to keep him satisfied.
That's just how I feel, like I said I'm not
    drinking the kool-aid.

As far as who I think they should target, your guess is probably better than mine! I think D12 is the one
with the most reward but is also the riskiest.
