He definitely won't be there as an undrafted free agent. Rockets on pace to make the playoffs & not have a pick. (Thanks Daryl & Terrence!)
He isn't a sure pure franchise player like LeBron, Oden, Davis. He isn't a (or half) head better than the rest of the field like Irving, Griffin, Rose. He is stuck in the same tier as McLemore, Smart and Noel.
He won't be backing up anybody. Shaud, if Oladipo slips out of the top 5, some team will have a steal.
Well Noel is hurt I haven't watched smart and McLemore so far has been a no show in this tournament in fact he is usually a no show on the road. I see what you're saying though.
Awful comparison, I'd say you haven't watched much of Vic with saying what you did. Tough to say what his ceiling will be, he's constantly working to better his game. VO had a very rough first half, he was clearly frustrated, Wyatt was amazing. Second half Vic held tough, stayed patient on offense and really made Wyatt work for everything he got.
This dude is overrated all around. Number 1 pick? What? He can't shoot, he is overrated defender(got lit up by some random guy who'll be undrafted), lacks basketball IQ. Loul Deng was much better prospect. Elite role player at best. He better hope he ends up on a playoff team.
IU's tournament run will have a lot to do with VO's draft position. Anybody judging him by Wyatt's first half Saturday is just clueless. Not much more to say.
Umm. Overrated compared to all the previous #1 picks in prior NBA drafts? Sure. Overrated compared to the field of players in his year's draft? Not really.
Omg please stop. Do you watch IU basketball? No? Then sit down. Vic shot 62% from the floor this year, and I believe over 40% from 3. He never forces shots, only takes good ones. And his d is in a league of his own--in the first Michigan game he had 15 deflections at half and more than double that by the end of the game. Vic a a truly great player with an unparalleled work ethic. I'm at IU and I've watched him grow over the years. He deserves to be a top 3 pick. He reminds me of a mix between tony Allen and a lesser version of Jordan (fwiw--vitale made the same Jordan comparison)
Iman Shumpert and Tony Allen can't shoot or do much of anything on offense. They are serious liabilities on that side of the court. Oladipo is a good offensive player. Did you see him hit the dagger shot against Temple? Has Allen or Shumpert ever done that? Some of you guys are obviously trolling and should just stop. Try to be serious.
Watch oladipo before you claim him to be overrated. The best comparison of him is Dwayne Wade except oladipo never forces anything. Oladipo let's the game come to him instead of taking over and that's his downfall at times. He does take over in other areas like hustle and defense but offensively not ALL/MOST of the time. I do believe he has the ability to do so. Over the 3 years you have seen him develop his offensive game and if you realize, those with the best work ethic most of the time always end up being stars of the teams, if not superstar. He has that potential and that alone puts him in top 7. The way he plays puts him in top 5
I'll admit, it's a small sample size, but I've watched him win IU's conference tournament, and IU's last NCAA tournament game, with his D AND his O. His D is incredible. Only by running through staggered picks was his man even able to touch the ball-- and, even then, Oladipo darn near got the steal. His motor has a lot of horsepower. He looks like a lock-down wing defender-- WHO CAN SHOOT AND MAKE FTs!!! Man, I'd sign the petition to Morey to git'r done!
