It's about even. PS: It will sure be an interesting choice for that all nba-1 team. CP3 is bound to get 1 spot. Then - Parker? Kobe? Harden? Wade? I'd pick Parker by a hair but I suspect Kobe will get the votes.
okay, parker is shooting lights out i didn't realize that. however, he's 31 (i understand this isn't about the future). he is playing on the same team for almost a decade with the best big man of the last decade. harden just joined this team at the last minute, and is on the youngest team in the league and no other superstar. is this really even debatable?
who's better right now? definitely debatable. Parker is playing at an extremely high level at the moment. Clearly a top 2 point guard. He has a strong case in terms of overall level of play but in terms of durability (Parker missed quite a few games) I think Harden evens it out or goes ahead. Long term, obviously, everyone would pick Harden.
Top five offensively. Top ten overall. With a more complete game, he'd easily be one of the best three or four in the league.
The guy is in his FIRST season starting, first season as "the man", has no relief from a second star to relieve him from the double and (sometimes) triple teaming on him yet he is still talked about in the top 10 players in the league. Harden is unbelievable, its scary sometimes.
To disagree is one thing but to call a poster an idiot because he has a different opinion is pretty low.
Just because Parker plays with a better team, doesn't make him worse of a player. The separation isn't much, but Tony Parker is the best player on the best team in the West and a former Finals MVP. Lots to love about him. Granted, each of them is in a situation that better fits their talents.
harden plays playground defense. he tries to disrupt shots by running at the other guy's elbow, he plays passing lanes, all kinds of stuff. but mostly its free willing because he is conserving energy. really kobe and lebron are overrated in this aspect. the only two players i've ever seen give all out effort on both ends EVERY NIGHT were hakeem and jordan
That's a big if/ or when. If you watch documentaries/interviews on basketball players, they usually say that they have to work "extremely hard" just to improve a couple points here and there in different categories (pts, assists, rebounds, stls, blks etc). Playing defence requires a ton of endurance. For him to keep his offence the way it is, he needs to work on his stamina, but it's highly possible. Harden's game is not a very elegant game (I personally think it's a little bit clumsy) but it's a great style because it he gets opposing teams to commit fouls.
Okay ZNB your right I prob should have just said your flat out wrong, not an idiot. I don't know the guy. With that said, the things he said were wrong and not debatable. He's not small (6'5) he's really strong(230lb) and is extreamly long(6'11 wsp) for his position(SG) with elite athletic ability(37 inch vert, lane agility time same as Chris Paul). Idiot is a strong word and I apologize Charles_zed for that. I just don't no how you call yourself a Rockets fan and don't know anything about the teams best player. These are just facts, I'm just not into ppl making things up and talking out of their a** about the Rockets and the 23 yr old superstar franchise player who has made us relevant and in the playoffs.
For an ankle injury, and Pop just sitting him to rest him. I'm not sweating it. Anybody could roll their ankle.
Isn't that kind of the point? Because Parker's older and needs more rest(I'm not even including his less minutes played), he's therefore contributing less than Harden? Even if you just limit it to this year, the fact that Harden is on the court much more than CP3 or Parker matters. Because we don't have that 2nd star to keep things afloat when our superstar misses time.
