    Absolutely correct.

I'm looking forward to the movie...I'm just not pretending it's going to resemble the book.

I would love for someone to work a miniseries out of the book, though. Way too difficult to do in just 2 hours if you're interested in developing characters.

I'd do it almost like a Twilight Zone series...host introduces the particular context and the characters...the host would be the journalist who was writing the stories...he's the tie that connects all the stories back to a larger context. That has real potential if executed properly.

Not sure, his character is listed as a United Nations employee.

Initial reviews have been mixed. Not as horrible as I thought it might be but definitely not what I was hoping for a book I really, really liked.

Definitely gonna have to go in not even thinking of the book. Sad that so much awesome material most likely will be wasted, but hopefully it'll be a decent zombie flick.

Zombies on a plane! Zombies on a plane!

Man, talk about a feeling of claustrophobia. Maybe it's zombiephobia. Anyway, I'll go see it. I like zombies and I like Brad Pitt. I've been a fan of his since 12 Monkeys.

Early reviews have been generally positive, which is a far cry from what I thought it was going to be. Probably will end up checking it out now.

It can't be like the book because the book is a collaboration of tons of various interviews of people all around the world.

That being said the running zombies are as far removed from the book as you can possibly go. The zombies in the book are slow shamblers, not this 28 days later crap.

Meh, not really interested. I preferred my zombies apocalypse with less firepower and a crew of main characters that you don't know who will die or survive tackling this huge issues. Something like Dawn of the Dead. You know for sure Pitt will survive and save the world.

This movie is getting pretty good reviews, hanging steady at 75% on rotten tomatoes.

It's not like the book from what I've read. They cherry picked certain idea but the overall thing is packaged in blockbuster fodder which it, apparently, does well.

I've read that it is more like the book than expected; particularly the way different nations handled the infestation.

From what I've read so far nearly nations have used the Redecker plan other than a few rebel elements from some countries that opted to just break off and do their own thing.

Saw it on Tuesday. It's solid, not fantastic, but certainly worth seeing

Don't ever compare this movie to 28 days later or 28 weeks later. I will slap you!

I quit on the book after about 2-3 hours (audiobook - I have a long commute). I plan to watch the movie now that I know it doesn't really follow the book's format.

Just got back from seeing it.

Much better than I had been led to believe by all the horror stories of the 'troubled production'. Whatever trouble they had, you can't see it on the screen, and it held together well.

Overall, it was incredibly intense and tense, from about 4 minutes in, and it never lets up. Yes, there are some quiet moments, but they are all filled with dread. You really do get the sense that this thing is on the verge of destroying the whole world.

    I give it an 8/10

I especially liked Pitt in this. I can understand why it was a pet project of his. He was more likeable in this than I have seen him in a long time. I really was rooting for his character the whole time.

I have no knowledge of the novel, so I can't say how it compares to the book, but taken on its own, it holds up. The logic works, and the remaining humans are well aware of what it means to be bitten.

All in all, I liked it. It isn't a typical zombie movie, which is a good thing.

Weird, you can read the book in half a day and it is really well done.
