What do you mean Rondo can't shoot ever. Go look at his FG% every season. It's in 40 and 50%. The only think Rondo is bad at is 3 pt shooting. Rondo does everything else well. Don't even compare the TOs. Lin is just as bad with TOs. Thank goddness he doesn't handle the ball everytime, or else he'll be leading in TOs. Rondo is hec of a better PG than Lin. I don't know why you even compare Lin to him. Not comparable. Rondo does everything well except shooting 3s. Please, just save the BS.

IMO O.Asik is the man for beating the Spur this game. Beverley may have block that shot but it was our big man O.Asik create that play for J.Harden for that winning shot. JLin, P.Beverley and C.Parsons can't even stop T.Parker. At least O.Asik was able to slowdown T.Duncan and block some shots. The End.
asik did have a a couple good D plays on timmy near the end of the game but you can't deny parsons d on tony. tony was crazy in first 10 minutes of the 4th qt over lin and bev until parson took a turn on him. bev's block was a spetacular play. they all contributed to the win.
I'm not a FAN of the NBA.... I am a fan of Houston sports though. ...as for the wishing an injury on a player, I doubt he was serious. ...regardless...anyone wishing for something like that is a prick.
Man we beat the Spurs!!! ... pretty sad that the last few pages of this thread makes me sick to my stomach, I miss this board when everyone was happy after a win
Rondo is a joke. He would just be a stat padder if he wasn't surrounded by 3 HOF's. He would never be a winner if he wasn't surrounded by 3 HOF'ers. Using him as an example just isn't a good one, the guys is overrated. That said, Rondo is 10x better at getting assists then Lin is. Can he orchestrate an offense well? I don't think he can, but he is definitely a pro at getting assists, so "slightly less" is a understatement. Also I never said Lin is not a capable starter in the NBA, not not for the Rockets, he is average, which I just don't think is good enough for this team. We can always upgrade other positions but I actually had high expectations for Lin when he came in after Linsanity and he's been nothing but mediocre. I'm not banking on any bogus "potential" either. I actually want to see it otherwise its all words.
A couple observations: Harden is just awesome. Smartest player on the court, can flat out play and not afraid to take the big shots. He is elite. Asik held his own against Duncan. Asik is in the best shape of his life. His picks and screens are exceptional. Parsons is better than Leonard with more upside. Parsons can do so many things. His defense on Parker was excellent. He has to do so much on this team. Lin didn't have a good game, end of story. It doesn't mean he should lose his starting job, just was one game. Also he was matched up with possibly the most underrated player in the NBA. Parker is the second best point guard in the NBA and an exceptional penetrator. McHale coached well and the Rockets fought well. Huge win... But just 1 win.
nah... not surprised. dealeck predicted the outcome. i know the shot will go in the moment harden gets the ball.
Well said. It's not like a polarizing PG is new around these parts. Steve Francis was a popular whipping boy. Followed by a short cameo by Tyronne Lue. Leading to the legend of Bob Sura. Whose deteriorating health led to Rafer having his turn as the butt of jokes. Soon to be followed by the meteoric rise and fall of AB, who eventually lost his role to Lowry's bulldog ball. Who in in turn lost his job to a streaking Gogi. Lin came into a bad situation, because a lot of Rockets fans still had a hankering for some Dragic. His poor play to start the season was only magnified by the mindless thralls of apologists now dubbed LOFs. But I digress...PG drama is certainly nothing new around these parts.
Did anyone else see how harden closed on Kawhii Leonard on that last shot of the game? He literally crashed into the San Antonio bench. Was good to see that kind of effort. When his minutes are managed a little better, he can be an average to good defender on a consistent basis.
Definitely, Parsons was a key factor in our victory last night. I remember Lin and Parsons having a conversation while the spurs were shooting their FTs and after that, Parsons started guarding Parker. Glad we can adjust even in the middle of game time.
Parsons is a glue guy, like Super Mario and Bobby Joe Reid back in the day. The kind of player every team needs and many teams don't have. We're lucky. Morey better not move Chandler this summer for some goofus that's afraid of stairs or some silly thing. I would be royally pissed. More importantly, it would seriously damage the team and what we've started, in my opinion.
