since you said you hate both so i trust you coz you're senior on this board. i don't like LOF or LOH terms either. it is the reason i used "". but remember any discussion always involves a certain player, a certain coach, a certain gm, or a certain owner. it just happens right now lot of discussions are related to lin. i don't believe majority of "LOFs" care only about lin's # not win. winning is also one index of many #s for a player's status.
I can't believe someone would wish a rockets player would get injured.... I consider that not a real fan. In fact not a real FAN of the NBA. (I mean who would want a player to get hurt?)
This whole Lin thing is bizzare, we didn't even have that with Yao. Lin is a player who is pretty good, but far from consistent, he will get there though, he is really smart. Unfortunatly sometimes you have to yank players that are playing badly to teach them a lesson, that is all that is going on with Lin, he makes some boneheaded plays and gets to grab some pine. It happens to all young players, Lin is just a little more experienced than DMo, think about that for a moment...... As to why it doesn't happen to Harden, he is in his 4th year, he has earned the right to work through mistakes....Lin hasn't....but he will get there. Patience young Lin fans, patience. DD
pretty real post i think.....if the fans would just slow their roll a little and give him some slack you wouldnt have these reactions.....Lin is young, hes pretty good right now and hes getting better...hes smart and he will get there. I didnt have any real issues with him getting pulled. Most people would react however to the nonsense of beverly being the starter....the knee jerk and these were teh same people who were all over beverly when he wasnt hitting anything for several games
As of right now we'll just have to interchange Beverly and Lin, basically play whomever is playing better in the game. Neither are consistent enough to start. When Lin was playing well during his 3 games stretch Beverly was sucking. When Beverly has been playing well the last 2 games, Lin has been sucking. You never know what you're going to get, and thats really annoying but we'll just have to put up with it. Hopefully they don't both play terrible at the same time.
he was, like rondo sucks? Last night Lin was second in assists and if anyone could make a shot he would have been at 10. Perhaps if he didnt get pulled he would have had more than 10 and perhaps he would have scored 12 points. Lin wasnt awful last night. He just didnt make a real difference. It was like he just never got going. But to say hes not worthy of being the starter is nonsense. Rondo cant shoot EVER but everyone thinks hes great cause he gets 10 assists a game. He doesnt get pulled when he misses 2 shots does he. He has the opportunity to get going. Rondo leads the NBA is TO's before he got hurt. SO lets get it straight. Rondo is great but leads the NBA in To's, cant shoot but has 10 assists a game. Lin who scores more points than Rondo, sleightly less assists but is 7th in steals is not a capable starter?
this is what i have my opinion different from alot ppl here, including you. my logic is we all know they are young and they play together less than a full season. let's put mchale aside. no debate on harden. asik is the best big we have. parsons should start too. do you see anyone better than him? no. only pg position is kinda tricky. who do you think is better over and how much? please take out your madness on LOHs. just speak out from your deep inside. my opinion is lin is a lot better than bev. as a pg, bev hasn't proved he can guide a smooth offense. we often saw rox offense turned into worse when bev was given the primary ball handling duty (means harden and lin neither on floor). on the defense, lin didn't often show spetacular plays but his defense is fundamentally sounded. only problem with his defense is he gambled a little bit too much (help defense alot) but it helps his steal #. it kinda likes his TOs. he gambled a lot. he does need to learn when to do and not to do. with this in my mind, i will stay with starting lin and give him consistent play time no matter what so he and other starters can grow together, starting a game and closing a game. inconsistent playing time won't help him. of coz how to use him is another tricky part. i know ppl are going to argue mchale wants to win. it is a reason i said in the beginning. we have to put mchale aside to discuss it. of coz, if you think bev has better upside, i don't mind to start him so bev can grow with other starters. it's called growing pain. we have to go through those pains to get a better team.
its soooo simple. Lin is inconsistant. If he played at his highest level every night he would be an allstar. Its also simple to say that hes young and very smart and learning/ Lins not going anywhere because with his potential to be an allstar they cant buy that at his pay scale. Hes very worth the gamble.... I will also say that last night it seemed that mchale wanted to iso harden a lot more and lin was standing in the corner. Lin when he had opprotunites last night did not take advantage of them....so it goes
