Sorry, I don't believe I discredited Bev. He had a good game. It just seems like Bev has to prove much less in order to get the hype. Lin apparently needs to be 20/10.
True, but Lin almost lost the game single-handedly by blowing the lead with his swiss cheese defense on Parker down the stretch. If this was the playoffs, it would have been even worse than now. All the LOF stop acting like Lin is the messiah. When he play like junk it's junk. No it's not refs. No it's not being screened hard. Beverley is a better on the ball defender, an area Lin lacks big time. Lin can score, so can Beverley if given more playing time. Lin is good but he doesn't separate himself from Beverley as a star people think he is. Lin wants more consistent minutes than he needs to play better and like a starter.
Here's another interesting fact...Beverly was a selected 42nd overall in 2009 by the LA Lakers. So this "rookie campaign" is really not...
TP torched both Lin and Bev. McHale should have used Bev to ball deny TP in the first place. To put Parsons on TP when Bev's in the game is dumb. Make that adjustment earlier in the game. Lin should be in at the end of games, period.
In order for Beverley to show what he got he needs to take over for Lin as a starter. Lin just needs to hurt his ankle or something so he can stop playing so Beverley can show what he got. Lin sprained his ankle a few times but why doesn't he just sit out. If Beverley was that bad, Lin doesn't need to fear losing his starting job. Just sit out when he's hurt and let Beverley play. And when we see Beverley play starting minutes, you will see how much better the defense becomes. You will see how the tempo of a game is really controlled. It's all my opinion but I don't have confidence in Lin in this system. I just don't. He needs to play in picture perfect system in order for him to thrive. It's no secret anything outside of that he's going to struggle.
Yea it's not so much Bev hype as it is the few that are asking for Bev to start over Lin, which then gets Lin supporters overreacting in turn.
You know that when Beverley was subbed in for Lin at 3:56 mark in the fourth quarter yesterday, Parker scored 6 straight points for the Spurs. I wasn't till Parsons was switched onto Parker, that Parker stopped scoring. Beverley had a huge block on Green, but let's not pretend that Beverley's on ball defense was what won the game for the Rockets last night.
What you mean TP torched both Lin and Bev. He torched Lin into ashes. Bev got burned 1st degree. Parsons was the fire extenguisher. Also, you LOF needs to stop chirping on why Parsons play more minutes than Lin. Yesterday, was good example why he play big minutes. He can guard virtually anybody. Parsons was guarding the starting PG when Lin, a starter, was useless in guarding his own man and you expect Lin to play more minutes and Parsons to play less. Laughable.
So what happened? The Rockets still lost. Lin putting 38 pts w/out Harden is not gonna win you games. Harden also sat in the Clippers game. How well did Lin do? I'll let you fill in the blank.
I hear you loud and clear. People are just expressing opinions. It's too bad that a few people seem to take it all so personally.
Look the Lin only fans will always try to find a scapegoat or excuse to step on anyone so that Lin is the best in the world. They're not objective. Pure and simple.
If only Clutchfans would get along as well as the Rocket players do in real life. From an outsider's perspective, they seem to genuinely care and root for each other. They also seem to genuinely care about the team first. They know that on any given night, some of them are going to be hotter than others or play better than others. They don't get down on their teammates when someone is doing bad. Instead, they pick each other up. Lastly, they also don't seem to look at recent performances as indicators of anything. Can you imaging the coaching staff doing line-ups based on the previous game or who got hot or who didn't in the 4th quarter?
I agree. A injury to Lin would be timely. I mean too bad for Lin but it would be great for Beverley and the Rockets. Lin has shown only sub par games so far and showed no promise whatsoever in this system. He can't shoot. He can't play defense. Hes practically the worst defender in the league or close to it. How did he let Parker and Ginobli score for crying out loud. Ill bet that any pg in the NBA could do what Lin did last year in that system. Anyone. #truth~
