I'm glad that Robinson is getting more praise on the board. And when he has a bad game, and he will, being a rookie, I expect to see several threads and dozens of posts saying what a mistake it was to get him. That's just how things are here. A bummer, but there you go. Life in the GARM.

You know what trend I'd like to see develop? Members not taking an either or approach to TRob and DMo. They are both tremendous talents, in my opinion, and we should be thrilled to have both of them. You don't have to tear down Donatas in order to praise Thomas, and vice versa. Just wait until the two of them get more experience and become more consistent and comfortable on the court. You'll be seeing a lot of TRob, DMo, Parsons, Lin, and Harden on the court together, IMO. In today's league, that lineup has some freakin' serious potential.

i agree with everything you said, especially on DMo's attitude and approach to the game( thinking the NBA is easy smh). TRob understands that he is a rookie, and he has a lot to learn, DMo has been flat in recent games, while you can clearly see TRob progressing and having better games lately( that too me shows great work ethic)

If he develops into a Kurt Thomas I would be overjoyed

I hated the trade because losing Pat Pat made the Rockets weaker this season and less likely to make the playoffs. I was pretty down on T-Rob. The rationale that T-Rob was a superior trade asset because he had two additional years on his rookie contract compared to Pat Pat turned this into a "trust Morey" thing for me. After watching him 10+ games, I feel much better about his prospects to be a good rotation player.

If DMo develops into Channing Frye with a little more toughness, then Morey would have gotten great value out of a #20 pick in the draft

To be fair to them, Douglas is doing his job there. And Patterson is playing very solid ball for Sacramento. He's the better player than D-Mo and T-Rob right NOW. Its a trade that can help both sides.

That said, question to ask is would you trade T-Rob for Patterson right NOW if you could, based upon what you've seen from T-Rob? Patterson would be the better offensive fit with his 3 point shooting. In limited sample size with the Rockets, I think T-Rob has shown nice potential where he can be an adequate replacement and then some. Its up to T-Rob to keep making us not miss him.

My point is that Patterson and Douglas have had a few strong games since the trade and just as many where they didn't do much. Just like D-Mo and Robinson. Yet when they have their games where they don't produce much, nobody says much. It's almost like we are being fed that Patterson and Douglas were not inconsistent when they were here. I remember Patterson starting and the Rockets getting off to horrible starts several games in a row. That was a big problem for a while to the point where many wanted scrubby Morris to start, but that is forgotten. Yeah his jumper is good, but Im sorry, I can't forget how dude would too often get 2 or 3 rebounds in game. Also forgotten by some is that Douglas is a streak shooter who will have a 4 game stretch where he seemingly can't miss followed by a 4 game stretch where his shooting goes in the toilet.

If he is working hard, that's really all you can ask from a guy. No matter what the results are, if a guy works hard, they get my respect. I hope his hard work pays off, because he seems to really want to improve. I'm rooting for him.

I see what you're saying there now, good points.

Adding to that, thats making the point that at least the move was lateral - its we gave up inconsistency, got some back. Which is good, never want to be worse off

The point of trades is to be on a noticeably better end. I think right NOW the trade is lateral AT MOST, with marginal edge to Sacramento. But just have to trust that the upside is there to be better, which NOW I think we can at least SEE it.

(Unlike the Battier-Thabeet trade, even though that was for the 1st round pick).

Clearly T-Rob shouold be starting over D-Mo, and Delfino at PF. The guy grabbed four rebounds in 11 minutes. He basically already got Patrick Patterson's season rebounding averages in a limited amount of time. SMH

From watching the game yesterday, I liked his hustle on the defensive boards, but he got lost a few times on defense which led to two Boris Diaw 3's which lost a cushion we had early. My impression is that that's why he didn't play any more the rest of the game. If he can learn to rotate properly on D when opposing PGs drive forcing our defense to adjust, that would fix a big hole in his game and earn him more minutes.

That's for sure, and I would throw Asik into the mix as well. IMO he is the "unsung" hero of the new Rockets. I love the guy's consistency and his aggressiveness. He is huge and sucks down rebounds like a vacuum.

There are more hitches in T-Rob's jump shot and free throw than you'll find at a weekend boat ramp. Hope he smooths that J. It's all that stands between him and stardom.

I heard Pat Patterson was offered the chance to do extra credit by the Rockets coaches and he spent it in the weight room doing military presses and lateral dumbbell raises.

No kidding. I'm a huge fan of the Turk. If his hands were as good on the offensive end as they are at grabbing boards, the guy would be a max contract player, IMO. I'm hoping he'll improve with that aspect of his game, but not holding my breath, although he has gotten better during the season scoring around the basket. Relatively speaking, of course, like from horrible to mediocre. Considering the other things he does, I'll take it! Another great signing by Morey.

Asik needs to be able to catch passes better off the roll and be able to make pass if a 3rd man comes to help against PnR.

If everyone keeps singing praise about Asik being underappreciated, than is he really underappreciated? But yeah, Asik is outperforming that contract for sure. His hands and Javale McGee brain farts can be a huge liability at times but he's an elite screener, rebounder, defender and he's durable to boot.
