Ok I get it. We beat the Spurs and everyone wants a circle jerk. I interrupted said jerk with some realism and some don't like it. I'm done for tonight. Enjoy the jerk fellas. I personally am just as happy with every other win as we are jockeying for a playoff spot. But to each his own.
Look, any player can have a bad game. Chris Paul had 3 games this year where he played over 20 minutes and scored less than 4 points. It happens. Lin was a little off the past two games but I'm sure he'll bounce back. If you're a fan of Lin like me, have some faith. Beverley did a fantastic job these past two games, so let's give credit where credit's due. Team > individual. Always.
Parker was getting a bunch of star calls. You really can't defend a player when the refs are calling fouls for breathing on him.
He's one of the Cheif LOFs in charge here. He has to make sure that even when we win, coach did a bad job because Lin did not play well. The only time coach can ever do well is if lin drops 20+ and we win and Lin gets at least 40+ mins.
I celebrate the win. I love Beverly. But bad coaching is bad coaching. And it will kill us in a best of 7. Coaching effort isn't gonna mean much in the playoffs when everyone is playing hard. Get it?
If you pay attention, I'm also the guy telling everyone to chill out after a bad loss. Some of you are like teenage girls. You love the drama. Either the players are bums or they're heroes. And this board is filled with either unreasonable anger or unwarranted optimism after literally EVERY game.
Bad coaching? Review this play. It was perfectly executed by all involved and won us the game. Do you think it was drawn up by one of the kids wiping the sweat off the court during breaks in the game? Continue to make yourself look like a fool. You're good at it. That, and not much else here. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/OCEZlYLK1nY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I guess the only way to enjoy this forum is when Lin puts up 20+ a game while playing the entire 4th quarter - a tall order indeed. Can you honestly say that Lin can do a better job defensively than Beverley (and the block) had he played the entire 4th quarter? Offensively he would not get any touch in the last 4 minutes because Harden is the designate guy on those play, which means it would not make any sense to have Lin in there at all. Coaching decision is a game-by-game basis. Just because McHale decided on Beverley to close this game doesn't mean he will do it for the rest of the season. In any occasion when a PG isn't taking over the game ala Parker and offense intensity is needed, I would advocate for Lin, but this game simply isn't. If Lin is really the professional and hard-working individual like his fans clamor him to be, then he should be able to understand McHale's decision and work harder on his game.
Stop it. Before you embarrass yourself further. McHale, unlike you is not an idiot. Lin absolutely sucked tonight. So he did the smart thing and took him out. Beverly came in and made a huge play that helped win the game. You're upset because McHale took out your favorite player, and his replacement outplayed him. You're concern is clearly with Lin. Mchale and our concern is with the Rockets win. Got it?
Lin didn't help himself tonight and gave mchale every reason to bench him--even though IMO putting Beverley in to finish doesn't help the team in the long run. They both had key defensive plays down the stretch--Bev's block was key but so was Jeremy's rip of splitter down low when he would've had an easy layup. Parker was on fire and scored at will on both jeremy and Beverley. So much so that chandler had to switch on him. Bev did nothing offensively when he finished the game so having him or JL in would've been a wash tonight. The important thing is they got the win. If JL has to win over McHale's confidence then that's what he has to do. If he has to do it more often than other players then that's what he has to do. The only player who is protected is harden cuz he's the superstar. JL is used to having to prove things 10x more than the next guy so he'll be fine. He's in a mini shooting slump and he'll just have to work his way through it, and if he can't then he'll sit in the fourth until he does. It's not what I'd do, but I'm not the coach and neither is anyone but mchale. The WIN is what matters. If they lose it's not good for any type of fan on this board--LOF, LOH, and everything in between.
This sounds like the exact same thing with the Lin fans at the beginning of the season. Why can't you just be true to your word and stop posting for the night. We, ROCKETS fans, celebrate after winning against one of the best teams.
Ok let's get some things straight, sir. 1) One play doesn't win the game. A block in the 4th means the same as a block in the first. Seriously....get a clue. 2) As a Rockets fan, I take a backseat to NO ONE. I've been a fan since I was 5 years old. I'm 36 now. I became a fan because my father was a huge Rockets fan from his time at grad school in Texas. 12 years ago, as he was dying of cancer, I spent all the money I had in the world (about $10,000) to fly him, my mom, both my brothers, and myself to a Rockets Lakers game and sit second row because I knew he'd always wanted to watch them in person but never had the money to do so. I also knew it would be one of the last moments we'd be together before he passed. He was a such a huge fan that despite barely being able to do simple things like walk around he got on a plane and we went to Houston. That's where I get being a Rockets fan from pal. So this LOF **** I get is ridiculous. I've seen great coaches go and bad coaches come. McHale is a bad coach. Adelman was a great coach. Rudy T was somewhere in the middle despite us winning titles. Just my opinion. But doesn't make me a ****ing Lin only fan. Jesus.
hocash you're drunk, go home. better yet just leave the forums. and if you aren't drunk you're delusional
Asik was the man tonight, I agree with you. He was key on Duncan. Mchale was absolutely fantastic coaching wise tonight though. He did all the right things. This team has a REALLY tough stretch these next 3 games. That could be our playoff deciding factor believe me we want to win every single game. Lin didn't play that bad, but the way TP was going off you want Beverly in the game. It was a momentum shifter. Everbody, including Jeremy knows he is the starter but they know what it takes to get a team win. This win is huge, enjoy it.
Got what? You're clearly think our team wouldn't have won this game without P.Beverly? You must have been a sychic to see the future outcome.
