I was surprised. I thought they'd want a chance to challenge this law AZ passed. But, according to this article (http://politicallyillustrated.com/index.php?/page/usa/2206/) the Mike Gallagher Radio Show bribed them to not protest by offering air-time instead. Btw, I saw a guy yesterday on a busy street corner in Houston with a "God Hates Homosexuality" (or "Homosexuals", I can't remember which) sign. It looked like he was by himself. I don't know what was up with that.
They were probably concerned about physical attacks. From the movie, it seemed like their kids were occasionally in danger from people throwing things from the car. One of the kids got hit in the head with a flying milkshake. How sad that this kid has to feel alienated from the world for reasons unknown to him.
I once thought it was a stunt to test freedom of speech in America. But that notion faded quickly. Still, you have to marvel at America, where else in the world could such a disgusting display be allowed to go forward in the name of freedom of speech. It's a credit to the strength of our founding principles. Although I hope he'd just go away and we'd never hear from them again.
This ought to send those ignorant Westboro folks into a tirade. Here's to hoping they start harassing the good people at Equality House and finally get into legal trouble. I wonder how the Westboro folks would fare in the county jail.
