Duncan is playing like the best PF in the league this season. Are you watching the spurs kick ass this season?
I think you are way off here. The Rockets staff IMO is one of the best in preparing for opposing teams offenses. Few teams do as good a job constantly coming up with game-plans to take away the first few options of specific actions/sets. I actually find it quite remarkable how good this team can be on defense when fully locked-in, given the youth/limitations of this roster.
You're kidding with the first part, right? I would agree with you during the years of JVG and RA, but I don't think the Rockets take anything away on the defensive end, other than the paint where Omer roams. 2 of our better defensive players were just traded away, too. As much as I'd like to think we are a good defensive team, there are so many instances where our bigs and guards have a mental lapse and leave the back door pass open. And, we constantly leave the corner three open. Those are just a few examples...could go on and on. Anyway, our obvious strength is within our own offense, and while predictable, it's working for now. I think this team needs a great deal of work on defense.
Have you guys watched the Spurs offense. Its so beautiful. Its so frustrating to root for teams playing against the Spurs. Everyone tries so hard but yet the Spurs can overcome any kind of defense.
I like your optimism but what's with the username bro? I hope it's supposed to be sarcastic or something.
I'm not kidding at all. Obviously there will be breakdowns given the youth and limitations of this roster. Mental lapses and poor technique are hardly on the coaching staff, though. There's only so much pointing out and teaching the coaches can do. It just takes a while for young players to get used to NBA schemes and get better at executing them. It doesn't help that it all starts with the bigs being in the right spots and calling out the proper coverages, given that besides Asik the Rockets big men rotation consists of D-Mo, Greg Smith, T-Rob and Delfino. None of this is scheme and game-plan related, however and I, for one, think the Rockets have done a very good job game-planning for opposing teams. Also, if they did happen to get burned on specific plays the first time around, IMO they've done a good job adjusting, if not during the game, certainly the next game, which should bode well for the playoffs.
man the spurs are really skillful, we going to have to fire all cylinders and rain 3s like crazy to have a chance

To save the world from midget giants.. But seriously, I'm a fan of the game of basketball in general. I don't discriminated by the teams or mascots, basketball is basketball. I just grew up in L.A and the lakers was always broadcast on TV. That being said, I did follow the rockets a little more when they drafted SF3 and up until the trade for Kmart. I'm just here to contribute my opinion and enjoy my time on the forum.
