Seriously? We traded him, unless no other team wants him (which I highly doubt, even the Bulls need a SG). he might consider signing with us. I don't really see the Thunder resigning Martin unless they win the title this year, which is highly unlikely considering how well the Heat are playing as of now. And not to mention Martin is looking for his last good contract.
Popular consensus in the national media is that KMart is in the running for the Sixth Man Award, and so for any Rocket fan to think that a Sixth Man candidate like Martin coming off the bench for our team wouldn't be a good thing, is simply not the thinking. And before you say that he is too old remember that he is a few years younger than Delfino. Obvioulsy KMart would be a great addition to our bench, and it wouldn't hurt either that when he was playing here he had had a great both on (and off) the court relationship with Lin and Parsons. The only question would be the pricetag. He already knows McHale's sytem too. Its a no-brainer if this price is right.
I don't think he fit into the "young, run, up tempo" style. He is a part-time defender . lazy sometimes~
I'd rather get a Tony Allen type if we're not using all our capspace on an all star. We need a defensive stud on the perimeter.
Kevin Martin will chase the money and go to whichever non-contending team that has cap space and will overpay for him
His style of scoring isn't really that impressive to me, it is similar to Harden except without as much slashing to the hoop and reliant on drawing the foul or hitting the outside shot. I'd rather spend cash on a SG/SF that can play defense, even if they only average 10 points per game, to be a change of pace for Harden or Parsons who are more offensive players at this point.
With Harden and Martin playing together, we won't be able to play our run and gun offense as the game will be played mostly on the free throw line. Drawing fouls all game long baby!
having one shameless flopper is enough for a team (harden). Lin is already an underrated flopper. Adding Martin to this flopping mix would make opposing fans hate us so much more. There's only so much flopping i can take.
Don't see how he fits with us when Harden is taking all the minutes at SG. 3 and D guys are muh more useful to us right now, and Martin was pretty happy about being with a contendet like the Thunder.
Between Morey & McHale, no chance he even entertains the thought of returning to Houston. Also.... Rockets shooting guard Kevin Martin is also a possibility to be dealt. He has just one year left on his contract (worth $12.9 million) and is not looking to re-sign in Houston, according to sources close to him.
I guess I'm one of the few on this board that wouldn't mind getting him back, not as a starter but being the first man off the bench. The only thing thing that I'm against is the price-tag! .............. .............. ..............
This. I don't even think he smiled once the whole time he was here, bad attitude... even the fans wanted him gone in the last year or so.
