Rockets will probably trade or move any one outside of James Harden away for another star player.

That's just how Morey is. I'm just not sure that Millsap or Smith or even Iguodala are those guys that Morey will be willing to overpay for. If he can get them and still have room for a max-guy he'll do it...but if they prevent him from adding another max player then I'm betting the thing that Morey does is add more guys like Delfino to the team. Veteran players to fill out depth.

That's definitely a plausible option. I still think Morey will try for Aldridge or Love, but if those options fail (and they likely will), the next best option would be to stand pat and not make major moves.

The anti-Royce: working hard to improve his craft instead of trying to be a 300lbs Gandhi dropping pearls of wisdom from his twitter account for the greater good of #Humanity.

Thanks for pointing that out. no idea where this "TRob can't dribble" is coming from. He's got good handles for his size, and excellent speed. Ball handling is not a problem with his game.

The issue is that his handles are not as good as he thinks it is-- part of the cause of the high turnover rate. "Good handles for a big" can be like "good math skills for a special ed student."

Nothing would make me happier than Morey not going insane and pulling the trigger on getting someone like Josh Smith or Dwight for the sake of getting them. All 3 big guys he's targeting this offseason I really don't like and I'd rather roll out with this group of hard working youngin's until something really stellar pops up. The Harden deal was a godlike one because Harden has his head on right and comes from a winning culture-- Bynum, Howard, and Smith are all knuckleheady and I wish Morey would take these mental things into account more.

I did originally have a caveat for a trade for a star player. I just don't see other teams lining up to give Rockets that star. The guys I listed are undervalued IMO, and signing them does not prevent Rockets from getting a star through trade.

Funny, I've had multiple people in other threads tell me that he's not raw...

Go Rockets. Being a fan is more fun when you root for your own guys.

Needs to settle down and pace himself instead of rushing things.

Because he fumbled the ball handling like twice. As if Harden or Lin never do that on occasion.

Not saying his handles are like a guard, but they are good enough that he can face up and dribble and even bring the ball up the court after a rebound which could be a huge thing if he refines his game.

They are undervalued right now but unfortunately all it takes is that one team to overpay them. A team desperate to get relevant like the Bobcats I could see overpaying for any of these guys.

You are right that signing them doesn't prevent trade but it does eliminate just signing them and takes away that leverage should they need them. The thing is they are going to have to commit to Smith or Millsap. They will look for long deals. Iguodala, he may be in ring chasing mode any ways since he'll be 30 he may actually take less than usual wherever he plays as long as it is on a contender.

McHail himself was an all-star pf and had incredible footwork or spin moves around the basket with great post plays. He should be the one coaching this highly athletic T-Rob on learning some of his moves so T-Rob can be a great post player much faster.

hahaha. Delfino: good handles and ability to lead the break ... for a PF. In seriousness, an underrated critical component to team success is each player understanding and buying in to their strengths and weaknesses relative to each teammate and playing efficiently at all times.

Did you ever get the impression that Hill was a hard worker, really willing to learn, coming early and leaving late, after practices? I never did.
