Be nice, this isn't true. I saw him stopped at a red light on Kirby once eating one of these (mayo version though) straight from the tub with a plastic spoon.
Question for you guys. with ER signing how much cap we still have left over to spend? i think we had about 9m in cap before ER. correct?
Not enough to do anything of significance. Lechner could command a million or more. Have to allocate cap space for the draft picks (9 coming in) and the off the street fill in journeymen. I'm sure they'll bring over one or two FA LBs. Reed's deal is 3 years, $15M, $5M guaranteed, $6M for year one, and unsure what the actual signing bonus might be (doesn't necessarily equal the guaranteed dollars). With his contract done, they can move forward with other signings, extensions, and restructures. I'd assume Smith's extension/restructure is on the way.
Thanks. i think we should re-do AJ & Matt's contracts. and with that money we shouold go n sign Urlacher and maybe Chad (depends on how well he does when we bring him in to see if he still got it).
If so, high fives to Rick Smith - that would mean NO signing bonus and Reed has to earn every cent of his money after year one with no cap hit to cut him. It's like one giant incentives contract....accept real incentives count against your cap :-D Don't restructure Schaub. Makes it harder to cut him down the line. And Urlacher's too slow to play 4-3 MLB well at this point - he'd be even worse than Bradie James in a 3-4. We need ILBs with serious range - Wade loves to send both OLBs forward, which means your two ILBs need to be able to go sideline to sideline and cover TEs. When we lost Cushing last year, the defense crumbled because no one left had the range and quickness to handle those duties well.
Even STRETCHED photos make PANCAKES look FAT. Watching the Conference. Who the heck is the guy with the DEEP voice who asked about the front seven?!?!? And whether it's Bob McNair's expertise or the experience or "father time" overcome? From the CHEERLEADERS' FaceBook: https://www.facebook.com/houstontexanscheerleaders
Rick Smith: Truly a great day for our franchise. To say we added a player that can impact the game is an understatement. I'm thankful this deal came together. I'm excited to welcome him into our family. Bob: Congrats Rick for doing an outstanding job. Rick and his staff have been doing an outstanding job for us. We have a plan. Our plan is to keep our core. We know we can't keep everyone but we have to keep the core. Occasionally we have the opportunity to bring in someone who fills a need. It's not often we have that opportunity. As we get into the playoffs, we need that mental toughness that will allow us to handle the increased pressure. We need vet leadership on the field. Coaches aren't on the field. The GM isn't on the field. We need leadership from the players during those critical times. We had very few veterans. We're developing those. We've had great DBs but no center fielders. Ed Reed does that. We play the best QBs this year, they'll be throwing the ball. We have to be prepared to defend it. He's a solid guy. He'll be able to help our young players and strengthen our D at the same time.
I just noticed... I think it's an insult to pay him $5 guaranteed... that only covers like 1.5 gallons of gas. Spoiler
