I'm a fan and always will be. In fact, it is worse missing the Astros for me because it is basically an everyday thing. During baseball season the days I don't like are the few off days the Astros have.

While I have been in favor of the rebuild and like a lot of what they are doing, the more Crane talks the more it becomes obvious that he really does not care about the fans though, it is simply a business venture for him. A couple of months ago I really thought this would be settled right about the time the Astros season started, but now I just don't see it.

Honestly, even this thread doesn't get nearly as many hits anymore. You rarely hear the situation talked about on sports radio anymore. It is like all parties involved have just put it on the back burner and aren't worried. And don't forget, Portland is finishing up their 8th year of this

I heard an ad today claiming to get the "facts" and one of them was that Directv is not carrying local games but charging the same - this is actaully a CSN lie. I get $20 a month off my bill for the next year b/c they don't have Rocket's games

Yup, looks like CSN has launched another ****ty campaign!

    ...

In other network-related matters, CSN Houston will sponsor a Rockets watch party during Friday’s Cavaliers-Rockets game at City Centre, on the site of the old Town and Country Mall at Beltway 8 and the Katy Freeway.

    ...

Meanwhile, CSN Houston has launched yet another carriage ad campaign. This one features Matt Hutchings, the network’s president and general manager, speaking to the camera with a “you deserve the facts” and a “you deserve the channel” message.

One 30-second spot notes that more than 85,000 viewers have sent messages, which CSN Houston forwarded to providers, saying they want the channel, but that providers continue to hold out on distribution deals.

Another notes that companies like Time Warner and Fox Sports continue to invest in new networks in, for example, San Diego and Los Angeles, and that DirecTV, Dish Network and AT&T U-verse have agreed to carry them while refusing to reach an agreement with the Houston network. A third says that even though Houston area fans lost access to the Rockets and Astros when the teams left Fox Sports Houston for CSN Houston, DirecTV, Dish and U-verse did not lower customers’ bills.

This campaign features less noise and less emotion than previous “I want my CSN Houston” pitches, opting for reasoned discussion and avoiding specific mention of DirecTV, Dish or U-verse. Whether it has an impact is anyone’s guess. While more than 80,000 petitioners represents less than one-tenth of the total TV households in the Houston area, it does represent more than 10 percent of local customers who subscribe to DirecTV, Dish and U-verse. The question is whether that number needs to be closer to 20 percent or 25 percent to have an impact on carriers.

A network spokesman says the ads will appear on broadcast TV, radio and print plus website banners and digital/mobile billboards.

My bill is the same as before. Did you have to call to have to ask for it to be lowered? If so, was it one of their we will lower your bill for 6 months?

Sadly, I've given up on this. I'll settle for streams until they reach an agreement. I won't be renewing my Rockets season tickets again and it is possible that I might not ever consider being a season ticket holder ever in my lifetime again. It's sad, it was always my dream to be a long time Rockets season ticket holder, but oh well.

I can't stop being a fan of the Rockets. I really wish I could, but it's in my blood, but I at least can stop supporting them in other ways for the time being.

We we even get Comcast before Lin's contract ends? I would of said before Harden, but I doubt that happens. Dear god, I hope it doesn't

I called DirecTV a few months ago and got $20 off my bill for a year plus $10 credit for one of my receivers for a year. All I did was call and asked when my contract was up because I couldn't watch my local basketball team. My contract isn't up until December but she still said I was eligible for a loyalty credit so I got it.

I called ATT Uverse and got a free month, plus $10 off each month for the next 12 months. So this is just another comcast lie. Plus, it isn't ATT-Dish-Directv fault we can't continue to watch the Rockets and Astros, they still carry the channel that brought us those games, Drayton/Jim and Les just decided to change and not care about whether or not we could continue to watch or not. Plain and simple

I'm curious how many times someone called the Rockets to complain about their bad teams over the years and the Rockets responded by crediting back a percentage of your season ticket cost.

I wish Les would sell the team. I've never agreed with the I wish Cuban owned the Rockets crowd until now. I don't see him doing this to the fans.

If it's not CSN then why has no other major network picked up Rockets games? Something tells me Comcast has a huge hand in this and they want to gain as many customers out of this by waiting until after the playoffs and when the Astros season starts.

I recommend protesting comcast by ordering the service for 30 days and dropping after 29 days. Money back no questions. They have to lose money on this and they deserve it.

Yeah, when I hear that commercial, it makes me want to puke. He acts like we are in this together against those evil sattelite and Uverse companies.

I've done my own personal boycutt of Rockets games and gear until this gets done and will be doing the same with the Astros. Really pisses me off b/c I was looking forward to taking my boy to a few games this year. Looks like we will have to go check out the Skeeters games. He's only 5 so he'll enjoy either. I hope the know they are not only pissing off current fans, but if they let it go on for few years, they might lose the next generation of fans. It's so much easier to become a fan of teams in other cities now a days with stuff like league pass.

My Dish 2 yr contract ended last March 3rd.. I,just like most of the fan are fed up of complaining and asking for CSNHouston and gets the same result, and just tired of watching the Rockets on my computer. So I signed up with Comcast not by choice but the only way to ease me up, at least for now. Signed up for 6 mos, no contract promo they have last wk so I did put my Dish account on pause also 6 months ($5/Mo) instead of canceling it,hoping in 6 months time Dish will already worked out a deal by then however if they pick up the channel anytime, I'm dropping Comcast in a hurry. I'm still hopeful before April 1. But for now I'll stick around.

I am lazy, but plan on doing it. I would prefer the last 30 days of the season. Are we there yet?

When I find a good quality stream, I love stealing from Comcast - they can't count me as a viewer, so I don't count when they're selling advertising - and it's hilarious that one guy with a good internet connection can stream to, potentially, hundreds of individuals ... and Comcast can't count a single one of them for the purpose of selling to advertisers.

So, in summary, I'd like to take this opportunity to say again **** YOU COMCAST, YOU SLIMY PIECE OF ****. I CANNOT WAIT FOR ALL OF YOU TO ****ING DIE!

Not to mention the radio change. I grew up in Port Lavaca, about 2 hours south, and when I was really young that was before the regional sports networks. So I grew up listening to Gene and Gene (Elston and Peterson) call Astros and Rockets games on TV. With the switch to 790, now after 7:00 living in west Houston I can't even listen to the games clearly.

And the sad thing is, we know that Les Alexander doesn't care . . .and everytime Jim Crane opens his mouth it becomes more and more obvious that he really doesn't give a **** about us as fans
