Well said. However the point wasn't to gauge their level of development, instead to temper our haste to judge D-Mo as a shooter. ;)

dmo cqnt hit above the break 3s. corner 3s he hits about 30%. above the break, the % drops by 10...

gotta make adjustments to get him a few touches in the paint. would you rather have asik post-ups or dmo post-ups?

asik was given two post ups today. just give those to dmo to get his confidence flowing.

Well that sure explains a lot. Also explains why DMo was benched in the 4th today. I wish they'd feed him more when he's in the post.

Omer gets post-ups drawn up for him on a consistent basis. I'm not a fan from an efficiency perspective but there are perfectly valid reasons why McHale would want to draw those up for him - being that Omer worked hard on it in the summer and even though he still sucks at it, it's important to show your big man that you value him and feed him to keep him engaged.

I don't think he is horrible at 3's I think it just a matter of getting used to playing in the NBA, the up tempo game and conditioning.

Three of his shots tonight went in and came back out. Remember how bad Lin shot at the beginning of the season, I would say a lot of that had to do with conditioning also.

I think if Mchale is patient with him we will see a big improvement before the end of the season..

D-Mo has good shooting form, probably just a bad streak that he has. With play time, I believe he'll be a threat at the arc and post.

    what?

heo no. Omer doesn't get post-ups. The only time he gets post ups and when Lin or Harden feels like passing to him in the post

You'll see that Omer gets about two post-ups at least every 2nd game on average by design. I wish I could tag people on the forum to get their attention but I'm sure HHHHMMMMM would be able to recognise the play-calls/ floor positions when he gets it called, albeit it might be hard for him given it's quite rare.

It's not always the first play of the possession but it's certainly not something they stumble upon by accident. Against the Mavericks it was obvious as Lin dribbled it up and fed it directly to him and McHale must have felt they had an advantage over Haywood there. There are times when it looks like Asik has just gone AWOL though - I'm remembering consecutive ISOs against Dwight and Brook Lopez which left me SMH.

It's about positioning. He's camping extensively out the three. He'll learn in due time though that he can creep in regularly. Patterson ended up playing closer as well and it worked out great.

NBA 3PT line is couple inches longer than in Europe. Give him some time to djust. In other hand D-Mo was good in defense today, wasnt he?

Sounds a lot like what Lin went through. Every time, he tried to play his game he was yanked. Now, the coaches have given Lin a bit more trust, so I hope that D-Mo will eventually get to play his post game cuz I definitely do see promise. I would bet money on D-Mo's success, he got game.

I agree and I've seen him improving overall. I definitely think he is adjusting. It's unfortunate that its during the playoff push but the timing of personnel changes didn't help things.

He has such a diverse offensive skillset. It's a crime that he's treated as a spot-up shooter. He should be the #2 option. Give him looks on the low block. Let him make plays from the high post. We're running the same stupid plays. I think Lin has turned into a decent enough outside shooter where we can run different sets where the guards are used to spread the floor and the bigs can be allowed to make the plays. We're really wasting D-Mo's talents on the offensive end by using him like he's Matt Bullard or something.

McHale doesn't really run any plays. He leaves it up to the guards. I've seen D-Mo get great position only to be either waived off or told to set a screen by Lin. When Bev gets in, he feeds the bigs in the post.

I've seen that to...strange..you just hope that with every bricked three the team begins to realize that Dmo needs to be in the post.
