Good signing. Now it's time to invest in the Offense.

One potential cool fall-out from the signing: this makes the Texans a more attractive match-up for the Ravens' home opener on NBC. I'd still put my money on the Pats - but having Reed watch the ceremony in a Texan uniform would make for an intriguing story.

If Ed Reed' s reputation makes a QB hesitate for a moment or two
Said QB will be on his back because WATT is all on him.

    That is an intangible

I mean seriously. . . Watt tipping balls and Reed Ball Hawking
    I feel good with that

Have the Terms of the details been leaked besides the max 16 million?

I agree and a healthy Joseph and more confident Jackson... Doesn't even consider Cushing coming back and Mercilus and Reed being in a better position to bring the heat.

I still worry about depth, but McCain will be better too, playing in the slot and not outside like last year.

Now the offense.... Not feeling so great about.

Man, just watching his highlights on youtube, and epic "don't ask me if I'm hurt!" locker room pump up mini speech...can't wait. Hopefully we keep adding some pieces thru draft and maybe more in FA.

Enjoy him guys. Injuries and age have caused him to decline a little over the past couple of years but he's still great and a great person to have on the team. He's a great leader.

I am iffy on the signing. Not a bad move in a vacuum. It is nice to get a good player for a couple of years to give Texans time to find replacement, but Dumervil is still out there. He would make more of an impact in my opinion.

Nice that it got done. From the sound of it the deal doesn't seem too bad. I wouldn't freak out about the 3 year $16 million being tossed around. That would probably be the max amount possible and if he earns that, then he's still playing at all pro level.

I think safety is still an area that needs to be addressed in the draft, but it certainly takes the pressure off of taking one early

Looks like Roc Carmichael will be getting punked out of his jersey number.

We don't know any details. He hasn't even actually signed yet.

i need numbers now what's the hold up? i agree three years 16 million not all guaranteed sounds about right. as magic said, if he is making that, and they have some room to cut him but don't, that means he is playing his arse off

What do you guys expect in terms of production with Reed in comparison to Quin? I know Quin wasn't really a big name, but he always seemed solid to me.

    more INTs.

I also think he'll be better in coverage than Manning was. Manning will move to SS; even though there's no real SS in Wade's defensive scheme. They'll both be expected to cover.
