    It's the team's physician.

Why are people pissed at White for this?

He didn't say he was quitting the team. He's out of shape and he needs to get in shape now.

    The nerve of this guy.
How about for the sake of Houston fans' wellness you give us all that money you made for doing nothing? I know it's not convenient for you, but it's best for us as human beings.

Anyways, don't really care as it relates to the 2013 Houston Rockets. Maybe its best if he just hunkers down and lets this all blow over, though I'll believe "Royce White not causing a stir" when I see it.

so short of electroshock therapy, hypnosis, or some magical pill, Royce white is never gonna play for the Rockets. If he can't make it in the D-League with fewer games and shorter bus trips, how will he ever handle thee NBA.

    Sad sad sad

Royce who? What team is he on?

I remember a rumor that the Rockets picked up some guy named Royce in the draft...

no need to talk about him anymore. i don't put any hope on him. any thread regarding to him just wastes resources. it's time to move on and leave him in d-league. we can't have tons of threads on one of d-league players.

not that we know of...its all speculation. But given his past history and track record, I'm guessing that he needs to work on his mental health (and probably his physical health--showed up out of shape, inexcusable). Not sure if there is a solution for this guy. I feel bad for him but the Rockets will probably (eventually) move on...

Finally starting to work his way back into basketball shape and this officially throws that out the window.

I think getting Trevor Ariza was the bigger fail. Fortunately, he flipped him the very next season and now all is forgiven. Hopefully the same can be done with Royce but that seems unlikely given his current mental state.

Someone ought to drop this kid off where Scarface grew up. That will give him an understanding of what anxiety really is. I can't support him anymore.

It's like how Tmac announced his surgery before Rockets mgmt was aware of it.

He didn't follow the PROTOCOL that he always preaches about.

    http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2013/03/rockets-rookie-royce-white-leaves-d-league-team/

The brief NBA Development League career of Rockets rookie Royce White could be over. Whether a career in the NBA can be salvaged remains unclear after the latest stunning turn in his tumultuous season.

White announced via Twitter that he was leaving the Rio Grande Valley Vipers to be in Houston for the remainder of the season at the advice of the team physician. He did not offer any explanation, but later said he was returning to Houston, not the Rockets.

Rockets officials, however, would not comment, potentially indicating that they were not a part of the decision. Even less clear is whether the agreement that White considered necessary to report to the D-League in February will protect him should the Rockets wish to suspend him again.

White had been initially assigned to the D-League on Dec. 29 and was suspended Jan. 6 for failing to provide services required by his NBA contract when he refused to report to the Vipers. After reaching an agreement on issues related to the treatment of his anxiety disorder, White was reinstated Jan. 26 and given time to train before reporting Feb. 11.

In 12 games with the Vipers, White averaged 9.6 points and 5.6 rebounds, making 41.6 percent of his shots and 62 percent of his free throws.

The 16th player taken in the 2012 NBA Draft, he has not played in a game for the Rockets this season and has not attended a game or practice since Nov. 11.
