i bashed LOF for overhyping this kid but apparently they saw something in him and believed in him when others did not....

he is a steal at the price we got him as next year he will have a breakout season....the sky is the limit for Jeremy Lin....and his confidence is at an all time high...

Beverly was so close to taking the starting role if he had won that game in Dallas....funny how things work out...

You're a good poster. To be honest, Lin was very poor early on in the season and there was legitimate concern all around as to whether the Rockets made the right decision on his contract.

LOL nooooo, TD was closer than bev. beverley clearly struggles running the show. his hot shooting wasn't going to last. in any case, there never should have been a question in the first place. jeremy played WELL in the first half in the last mavs game and was really benched for no good reason. you live and die with your best players at crunchtime and there is no DOUBT who the rox best players are NOW. a lot of people knew it to begin with but whatever, as long as they get it right for the playoff push it doesn't matter. now they just have to figure out the 4 and the 2nd unit!

jeremy is the truth. he's no chris paul, but he's a REALLY GOOD player, possibly a future all star caliber player. glad people are opening their eyes.

    Can we not?

Anyway it's not easy to admit when we're wrong about stuff, so kudos to you and hopefully he doesn't do anything to make you take it back!;)

I'm glad you are able to see.

I have seen him play since his draft and all his Linsanity New York games.

I am not surprised at all.

I remember reading your posts. I was a Lin doubter like you and Gil back in Sept/Oct/Nov. And I am a big Lin and Harden/Dmo fan now.;)

well he did suck badly in the first month and your first impression sticks with people for a while.

also a few factors that i don' think was given enough attention for his suckiness:

    1) his left knee, his jumping knee, was nowhere close to 100%. if cyberx is to be believed, he's only NOW near 100%. you're gonna suck playing on one knee especially if it's your off knee.

    2) new role and new system. he was asked to do very, very different things then he was in nyc and frankly throughout his whole bball career. he was asked to play a pg that kinda has the role of a sg. for a young player, you can't expect him to figure it out right away.

    3) coaches haven't figured out how to play him until recently. what you're seeing now is a combination of lin figuring out how he can play his game within this system, and the coaches figuring out how what he brings to the table and how to utilize him.

i think it will only get better next year after he's had an off-season to work on aspects of his game that could help this team in this system.

out of these three factors, i believe #1 is by far the biggest one.

Is it a coincidence that the 2 guys who supposedly have poor conditioning are probably the only 2 who burn just as much energy on the defensive end as they do on the offensive end?

I'm pretty sure Harden would look winded too if he tried as hard as Lin on D.

Jeremy Lin can be really, really good when he plays with energy. When he does that and shoots the 3 well, we are hard to beat.

To be an elite point guard you have to play at a high level consistently. Over a 10 game span, elite guards should have at least 5 elite games, 3-4 above average games, with maybe one sub par game.

The first half of the season Lin was having like 1 elite game, 3-4 average games, and like 5 below average games. But from the improvement ive seen the past 2 months especially this month, I think Lin from now on will have like 3 elite games, 3-4 average to above average games, and maybe a couple sub par games stretching till next year. And in year after that, it will only improve. And I think in that third year he will start to hit his prime and make strides to become a top 10 PG.

I actually think his potential is top 5 PG. Because when you think about all his weaknesses (shooting, left hand, defense) those can all be improved. In fact he's been improving in all those facets already throughout the year. He has a great general feel for the game, high Bball IQ, and his work ethic is unquestionable. The only reason against him being potentially top 5 is that this is a golden era of point guards and along with Lin, many of the young and currently better guards (rose, irving, lillard, heck even westbrook) will also vastly improve their game. But nonetheless, he'll still be a great point guard no matter what his ranking.

Cheers to you Spiegel. Spoken like a man.

As a Lin supporter, I felt that Lin had something special and the stats backed me up. But with so many people on here saying he was overhyped, then with his poor play early on, I have to admit I started wondering if I was just a blind LOF.

It's great that it now seems that most people on on the same page. Lin is a good player mostly, a great player on occasion, and every now and then we see a glimpse of what could be very special in a few years.

p.s. if anybody here trolls and says I TOLD YOU SO .. please gtfo out of this thread, keep it classy like the OP.

Sorry to tell you lin lovers, but Lin will be gone come draft night, along with Omer Asik. They will be traded or picks and cap relief. Morey will sign Clippers guard Cp3, and Lakers center, Howard.

Funny because if anything I see Harden to be more a Ginobili clone. Their games are mirror images of each other including statlines.

Lin last season utilized the pick and roll to perfection much like TP, it's just that this season there is nobody on the team he can do this with. He slashes to the basket in much the same way, and I have seen him use hesitation moves and change of speed quite often, I don't see why everyone thinks Lin has only one speed. The way he turns the corner off picks reminds me very much of Parker. Lin's quickness is also more comparable to TP than to Harden or Manu imo.

I am sorry to say that you were totally right. These months spent reading Clutchfans has severely weakened your judgment. What you are experiencing now is a mass delusion shared with 309284327849 LOFs and possibly Calvin Murphy.

    It's probably incurable.

I believe if MC give Lin enough trust and regular time, Lin will show us how Great he could be

He's the real play maker in our team instead of Harden
