Off topic: Just notice that the ad for League Pass feature Kobe, Lin and LBJ. Shameless NBA trying to capitalize on Lin fans.
Jeremy will continue to improve during the off-season. He does a mock scouting report on himself so he knows his weaknesses. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EV5k0DADTtQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Houston's been shooting real bad in the last few games with their 3s, just 26% tonight, so I predict they will be loaded and hot in the next few games.
no matter how frustrated i was when watching them played in the last few minutes, I am so glad that they are more serious on D now. Few good signs on this game: 1. Low start problem--fixed 2. Harden less effort on D--fixed (He really tried hard to fight through screens, give him a passed) 3. The bench out-played by the opponent team's bench--fixed
you wanna try again genius? why don't YOU post less? if the starters hadn't come back too late, they never would've gotten it to 5.
What? It was a 20 point blow out! Of course he's giving rest to his most important players as much as possible. If he put in the starters early and lost the lead, you guys would still be complaining because the starters were still tired when theye entered the 4th! wtf. McHale just cant win with you guys.
I don't think the starters were ever meant to come back into the game. We had a 19 point lead at the beginning of the 4th. If we didn't go through that scoring drought and gave the Jazz momentum it would have been garbage time.
Thanks for the data, Torocan. BTW, I live Yonge&Sheppard. As a certified LOF, I am just concerning my man's complete skill set. And I am trying to curb my enthusiasm. There are so many talents in the NBA, you know.
thanks and al jefferson is B A D at defense...you cant just keep on letting the guards blow by you...knock em on their ass once or twice
Houston notched a 100-93 victory over Utah tonight, giving the Rockets the season series (3-1) and moving them a full three games ahead of the Jazz in the Western Conference standings. The Rockets scored the first six points of the game and went wire-to-wire in the win, leading by as much as 26 points on the night. It was the third time this season that the Rockets did not give up the lead in a game. Houston limited Utah to just five offensive rebounds tonight. The Jazz entered tonight’s contest ranked sixth in the NBA in offensive boards at 12.5 per game. The Rockets held the Jazz to an opponent season-low 33 first-half points on 14-of-39 (.359) shooting. The previous low was 34 points by the Hornets at New Orleans (1/9/13). James Harden scored game-high 29 points (5-14 FG, 2-6 3FG) off a 17-of-18 performance from the free throw line. He came up just one make shy of the Rockets mark for most free throws made in a game without a miss, which coincidently came against the Jazz exactly two years to the date of tonight’s game. Kevin Martin went 18-of-18 from the charity stripe vs. Utah (3/20/11) to set Houston’s individual record for most free throws made in a game without a miss. James Harden actually scored 20 of his points (5-8 FG, 2-3 3FG, 8-8 FT) in the opening half tonight, marking his first 20-point first half since netting 21 points over the opening 24 minutes vs. Oklahoma City (2/20/13). Jeremy Lin registered 24 points (9-13 FG, 5-6 FT) and six assists tonight, which gave him three consecutive 20-point games for the first time since notching three in a row from 2/17/12-2/20/12. Lin also recorded 24 points vs. Minnesota (3/15/13) and netted 21 points vs. Golden State (3/17/13). James Harden (29) and Jeremy Lin (24) combined for 53 points tonight. It marks the ninth time this season Harden and Lin have combined for at least 50 points in a game, which is the most such game by any starting backcourt in the NBA this season (#2 is seven by Bucks Jennings-Ellis backcourt). Omer Asik finished with nine points (3-8 FG) and another 12 boards tonight, giving him 10 or more rebounds in 21 of his last 23 games. Gordon Hayward matched his season high in scoring with 27 points (9-15 FG, 3-4 3FG, 6-8 FT) to go with eight rebounds tonight. Hayward set his season best with 27 points vs. Dallas (1/7/13). Al Jefferson posted 18 points (9-19 FG) and 11 rebounds tonight, which gave him 31 double-doubles in 64 games played.
Read this off a comments page and having seen how Lin's minutes have been managed I do see some truth in it that might explain Lin's minute-distribution ingame. Lin is pretty much a spurts player in terms of his explosiveness of his first step and deploying him in the 4th when the other team is running ragged would make him much more useful than otherwise. I do agree on occassions we do need to ride the hot hand and sometimes we wish McHales ideas could be better understood but lets allow the management to do their thing. It's in their interests to win as much as we have an emotional stake in it. Go Rockets~!
Glad we won, how in the world did we let them almost come back though?? It's either we make a come back and or the opponent does, that's just inexcusable.
Not a trolling question...but were you on a Chinese or asian interest web site? I'm semi shocked at that ad. Maybe these are the top 3 players whose fans are willing to shell out for League Pass just to see? I'm one...wouldn't have league pass if not for Lin.
If D Mo's low post game is as efficient as he's shown in the few touches he's had down there, then he's being completely misused. I don't really care if the "offense" is built around spreading the floor for Lin and Harden. Manu and Parker have spent their careers being 2 of the best slashing guards in the NBA. Duncan still gets his looks down low. I'm not saying D Mo is anywhere near Duncan's level, but Harden/Lin aren't Manu/Parker either. Point is, if you have an efficient scorer on the low-block, you should use him. You don't have to pound the ball to him on every single play like Memphis does with Gasol and Randolph. But maybe if everyone is bricking in the first quarter, and the team is down by 12 points, maybe you could feed D-Mo 3 times in a row before that lead ballons to 20 as we've seen happen many times this season. This team has one reliable 20+ point scorer in Harden (who isn't going to get near as many calls in a playoff 7 game series as he is now). And it has 1 scorer who is super streaker and can give you 9 points off very low % shooting or 25 points off very high % shooting. And 1 very good scorer who has shown the ability to thrive off pick & roll, but for some reason keeps on passing it away once he gets in the paint or gets open for the J. So, like Drexler said during the broadcast, the Rockets need a 3rd scorer coming down this stretch. Harden will be there. If Lin gets more aggressive, he'll be there - he needs to seriously start shooting more and understand his scoring importance to this team. Guys like Parsons and Delfino, you never know, they could give you 20 points or they could completely brick you out of a game. So, D-Mo needs to be that 3rd guy that'll give you 12 points from the low-post to the high-post. That's 6 to 10 shots a game for a power forward comfortable in the low block - that's not asking a lot for a team that has Thomas Robinson as the backup.
