Some one will pay it. So do you want to keep him and be mediocre or go back to tanking to hope to get someone better?
there's a significant cap difference between max contracts depending on years in the league he might be worth a 2nd contract max, but not a 3rd contract max
If that is the case .. . . . they going to be lotto this year might be a good time to make a good trade Rocket River
I've john wall asked for the max, I'd trade him on the spot. The dude isn't really even worth more than 6 million a year.
Not yet a max player, but despite what's being said he clearly has franchise-player potential along with a good head on his shoulders. Not a sure thing by any means, but he's no B. Jennings. Worse contracts are given out almost yearly.
Yeah, he isn't worth the max yet. But if he continues his improve play of late, then I think he'll reach a point where he's worth the max.
yes, i have seen like maybe two of his game, no college and yes. he's a great athlete at pg. i mean like behind westbrook and he's a more natural playmaker.

maybe. i havent seen him play lately but pre-injury, he was a beast on the court. easily one of the fastest players in the league with the ball
PG that cant shoot? With handles and speed to burn, who needs to shoot? Check Westbrick and DRose, heck even Rondo and Parker. And 1 important stats- Washington is 15-13 with him in the lineup this season. Without him, the team is 5-28. And coming off as player of the week, I am guessing he is a bit over confident. He "might" not be worth the max yet, but he certainly is closer than a lot of posters gives him credit for. And at the age of 22? Who knows what would happen.
He's probably worth a four year max for a team like Washington. Those six year deals could haunt you for a while but four really isn't that bad. You can't let a guy with his potential just walk.
People need to stop putting stock on players asking for outrageous money. Wasn't last year when Javale McGee asked for the max? These players will get what the market pays for. If someone thinks he's worth the max, then he's worth the max. I will say that Washington should try to match offers rather than offering the 5yr version of the max(the one Harden got).
