Petrie was a very good GM at one time. He pulled off the Webber heist, stole Bibby and Cristie, drafted Peja and Wallace ... All in a 3-4 year span. However over time the Maloofs severely cut Petrie's scouting staff and budget. The owners have refused to pay the going rate for coaches or basic metric gathering that most other teams have. Further, Petrie has been forced to make deals for money saving and short term competitiveness. Petrie had an opportunity to leave for another job several times but didn't want to uproot his family. Unfortunately for him, he will be looking for a new job anyway.

No, Cousins is probably the biggiest knucklehead there is right now. He's also one of the better prospects in the league, and one of the most coveted centers (I'd put him behind M. Gasol, Howard) in the league. Unless he does something really bad, he'll stick around.
