Too old and slow. Also, Ed Reed just took up a lot of the cap space.

Vets minimum I'd be up to sign almost anyone. But he's not an option at that price lol.

I actually think he would be a great fit next to cush, just plugging up the middle of the field, but he'll get too much money

a little over vets minimum 1 year deal for the chance to win a superbowl? Crazier things have happened. He knows his time is running out --he's never hoisted the Lombardi Trophy (granted thats an argument for joining the Patsies, Ravens, packets and other elite teams, but Texans would be in the mix)

Also, most teams with cap room have dove head first into free agency so its unlikely he'll get a big deal anyways...

He has lost all his speed. He is a shell of himself.

i like it for cheap. it's not like he is going to be out there covering midgets on third downs. Cushing will be there on 3rd downs. Time for manning to begin the recruiting process..calling mcnair's private plane.

I m all game if we can get him for something like 3-4 mill/ year. give him same contract as ER signed. if we do get him it would be a great addition to our defense. and we do need LB's anyways. it would be a great way to get our youngester to learn from. but i dont think texans will sign any more ppl. bc they r saving up for next season for cushing and watt and thats when they will re-structure contracts of AJ and Schuab. to get more cap room.

If we can get him on the cheap, I would do it. Last year we were hurting for LBs due to injuries, wouldn't mind having a good backup and a natural leader.

He's slow man. I'd rather find a NT to address any inside run issues than try and work in Urlacher.

i think NT is actually a big big need. Mitchel is really a 4-3 DT, and although Wade likes smaller NTs, i just don't think Mitchell has been all that great. Our vulnerability up the middle has been a real problem, some of it obviously due to Cushing's absence most of last season. Still, Wade prioritizes his o-line over other positions on his defense. I think if a guy like Jesse Williams fell to us at #27, he'd help restore the push we need up front; and our LBs would all benefit from that.

A good NT at 27 definitely avoids the most upside for us. There's a lot of impact to be made at NT. I'd rather have a B rated NT than an A- ILB at that pick to be honest (especially considering he'd be on a rookie contract, heck yeah give me the cheap mediocre NT). Hopefully we bring in a veteran FA WR and maybe someone at ILB that affords a real opportunity to take a close look at drafting an NT.

Maybe if he can play for a case and a half (sort of like the same price I charge MoBalls for mowing his lawn).

I think the risk is too large. He missed many games...

He is a major liability against the pass and no longer moves well. He got progressively worse as the season went on. There is a reason the Bears did not want him even though they have ZERO fall back player with Roach gone.
