Silly question perhaps but how good would Lee and Norris be in their respective weight class if they were to fight in the UFC? In their prime of couse..
Lee trained harder and probably had a lot more stylistic imagination; although I think it's fair to wonder if he would have been interested enough in grappling to develop or fully master it. I think Norris was just one of best of a good lot of Dallas/Texas karate guys in the '60s and '70s that included Pat Burleson, Allen Steen, Golden Greek Havanas and others. With less charisma and a worse agent, he probably would have been another Troy Dorsey and fizzled out by his late thirties. Hell of a community guy, though. Also surprised none of the older guys have mentioned that Norris didn't really wear a beard until the '80s, a little too telegenic back then with the blond hair and Injun tan.
