No way, Durant will go down as a top 5 all time player and will win at least 3 rings. This guy is insane.
Nuggets are my darkhorse to make it to the Finals. The second best shot next to the OKC at making the Finals...imo. 2nd hottest team in the league,,,at the right time. 2nd best Western Conf record right now (31-11 )... which is way better than MEM and LAC's conf record...so they are doing something right in the West. They are not bad on the road ... 17-19,,,but they are VERY hard to beat at home ... with their style and Denver altitude. They are 20-1 at home since Jan 5th
After today's game, its kinda hard not to be convinced Denver will be in the finals. They can compete and win against anybody and its not that OKC's can't do it but I can see them shooting their selves in the foot especially WestBrook. Then again come playoff time they usually shine but in all honestly it looks like the team with the best chemistry (not necessarily talent) is gonna win it all.
By your logic, Miami won't be in the Finals, while Philly will. San Antonio. Great offense? Check. PG who can close? Check. OKC. Great offense? Check. PG who can close? Check.
But but but... Denver have no superstar! According to many people and Daryl Morey, you couldn't even go to 2nd round without at least 2 superstars, let alone win it all. It should be all about acquiring superstars or future superstars, chemistry/continuity/stability be damned, no?!
You want to bet. I'll bet you in you give me something close to Vegas odds. Right now LAC are 5-1 with the 2nd best odds next to OKC. I'll take 4-1 or even less...suggest something. However, if the Rockets face them in the 1st round...all bets are off, because I'll be rooting vigorously for Denver to lose.
Clippers will not make it. Their Achilles heal is obvious, big men who can't shoot free throws. Very easy for quality playoff teams to gameplan for.
Oh of course. They're definitely good, and could be Finals bound in the next couple of years... But I do not see them beating OKC or SA 4 times out of 7 this year.
If you are rooting for Denver and think they have a chance of winning a championship this year or in the future, you are rooting against Morey's superstar model and team building philosophy, no?
But but in 2K it works!!! Jk but honestly I think if Denver is gonna lose they're going to lose by the half court game. All that fastest pace stuff iwont nearly be as effective in the playoff's, maybe the first 2 rounds but if they can work on their half court game, they can make it. Plus, Ty Lawson hitting the big shot doesn't sound to bad of plan for me.
If Daryl Morey was in charge of Denver, wouldn't you think he would already trade most of their young talent aka "assets" for a so called star or even a rental of Dwight? Or he would have flipped half of their bench for some former high picks aka "potential stars" like Thomas Robinson or some future draft picks already? This is more like 2K13!
they ran a pretty good half court set today. with miller as well as lawson, they have two solid efficient pgs in the game at the same time. half court sets aren't an issue. that have ai2 and manimal, not superstars but athleticism.
I do. The point is Daryl Morey being exposed and consistently being excused for failures. He said his team had no superstar, that's why his team couldn't make the playoffs for the past 3 years. Denver proved otherwise. And even now he has his superstar and his team still might not even make the playoffs. His team is doing considerably worse than a team with no superstars. He is GM-ing in real life like it's a 2K13 game. More concerned about getting one leg over other GMs than making his team win. And yeah, it's like for him, basketball team is just a bunch of assets put together and not real life people that require chemistry to play with each other. Is that clear?
Also, interestingly, Denver traded their superstar for worse talent, they seemed to lose in that trade but they got better as a team. Morey on the other hand always traded his talent for supposed future superstars, he always seemed to win his trades, yet his team still remained bad or even got worse. What's really important to Daryl Morey, win a trade or win on the court?
They have no chance of winning a title. Did any of us say that? I didn't it. We are saying they are the darkhorse to make it out of the West.
Denver can play ANY style of basketball. They can go big, small, they can run with you or slow it down. Denver's biggest problem remains playing on the road. Also, the fact that right now Denver preys on teams' tired legs by running waves of depth at you, ala Hubie Brown and even to a certain extent SAS and Pop, but in the playoffs when you have 7 games to figure a team out it is much different and you'd better have more than just supreme depth in the playoffs. Denver won't be perfect at home in the playoffs either, so they better strap up.
