I have Vietnamese friends and regularly eat Pho, and I can attest to this clip's authenticity.

    Side story:

One of my teachers in school had the last name "Ng"

I knew I was supposed to pronounce it "ying"

    ....

But I chose to call him Nigguh instead

Dude my friend's first name is Ng, except it's a female. I thought it was supposed to be pronounced "Ehng" or "Ang"

    I call her "En-Gay" instead.

The way it was explained to me is to say "song win" a few times.

    Then eliminate the "so" part.

It's a difficult sound to make if you're not accustomed to it, so most Americans just say "win"

That's a pretty good way to explain it, with an emphasis that you don't say the W in win that strongly.
After you get that part right, then you can try to blow your mind by saying it the real Vietnamese way with all the proper inflections. Nguyễn

My friend "Ng" says pronounce her name like DarkHorse described "song" without the "so-"... but I thought how do you yell her name from across the street?

    "NGGGGG!!!"

Bingo. Not really that hard. Every English speaking person uses "ing." So they can do this. It's like when people say, "let me ax you something." I always ax...ask myself, do they say "baxetball?"

    Who is THEY?!

Black people do this (but not all). I have not heard any other race do this (other than people who aren't black but hang out with black people, wannabe's etc.).
