Call me crazy, silly, whatever, but if they get past SA, I could see them going undefeated the rest of the way(with a few tough tests along the way). That would give them a 39 game win streak. If they keep winning, they'd tie the streak vs Philadelphia & own the streak vs Milwaukee. Or Milwaukee can stop that streak at 33 as they did to LA way back when. Not quite counting on that.
Man, look at the teams on that list. Although Heats' winning streak is impressive, it is not mind-blowing if you put it into context. There is only one super team in the East, and the least conference just doesn't have that many quality team. It impacts LeBron's legacy as well. 10-15 years later, when the new generation compare LeBron to Jordan, they will find out in Lebron' era, he doesn't have true rivalry. I mean look at the competition field, especially in the East conference, it is beyond pathetic. A Celtics team with two grandpa HOFer can still do very well in the Eastern conference tell you something about today's competition in the NBA.
I don't see how having 2 old HoFers has anything to do with how well they do in the Eastern conference. Look at the Spurs. Then look at the West. Parker, their best player, has been injured for a while, and they're still holding that top seed. Over a young Thunder team.
So, we are at 23 and counting. I can't help but feel that the best thing that could happen to the Rockets this season would be for Miami to set the record for consecutive wins and then just totally run through the post season, blowing teams away, en route to winning their second ring. Why? What does it say to the league if Miami does that? If they set the all-time winning streak record, and then blow out whoever comes out of the West, what does it tell these other superstar players, specifically Chris Paul and Dwight Howard? Shouldn't it be obvious? Those guys aren't going to opt out and separate. Lebron isn't going to the Lakers or Cleveland after next season. If Dwight and Paul re-up with their teams, we're gonna be looking at the Heat in the Finals again in 2014 and probably taking their third ring. Who is going to challenge them if they win it all this year? Spurs another year older. Thunder either get rolled in the Finals again or they are sent packing in the WC playoffs. Does Dwight and Paul really think they are gonna compete with that Miami team with their own crews in LA? When Harden is staring them in the face in Houston? Dwight gonna hang out in LA with Kobe another season counting on Lebron to come there in 14/15? That's foolish. Lebron and Wade and Bosh are all gaming these guys, sending them signals they are possibly gonna come to the Lakers. The best thing for the Heat is to keep another 3-some of top 15 ballers from forming to compete with them. Lebron already told Chris a couple years ago to get his own big 3 together in the West so they could meet in the Finals every year. Remember that? This summer Harden is going to be staring Paul and Howard in the face. If those guys settle for their 5th year supermax contracts, they most likely have locked themselves into not winning a ring or at best perhaps chasing down one ring somehow and in the meantime beating the tar out of one another and attempting to beat the tar out of us, OKC, and everybody else that is coming strong. Those guys are going to face a difficult decision. Twill be interesting to watch.

1) The Heat have beaten the Thunder, Clippers, Grizz (snapped their 8 game streak), Pacers, Knicks, Hawks, Bulls and Celtics during their streak. That's the #3, #4, #5, #7, #8, #11, #12 and #13 teams in basketball. Additionally, 11 of those wins have been on the road. 2) LeBron doesn't appear to have a rival because he is playing that much better than everyone else. Kevin Durant is also having one of the greatest seasons we have ever seen, but LeBron is playing better. Similar to Jordan, he is slapping down the best of the best. It's not like he didn't smoke Durant and the FAVORED Thunder in the Finals. 3) The Heat have a better record against the West than the East. Don't hate. Appreciate.
Is this what it was like during the 95-96 Bulls? out streak is practically meaningless now. Man...I hope what happened to us occurs to them. Get knocked out early.
Similar to what it was like to those 90s Bulls team. You just expected to open up the sports page every day and see Bulls W. Like clockwork. Then look in the box score and see Jordan 40 pts 8 ast 6 reb or something ridiculous. I feel the same way about the Heat this year. Except now, there are constant video highlights of Lebron murdering Jason Terry, and hitting game winning jump shots, and etc.
I could see the Heat losing the next one. Doesn't even matter which team that is. But if they somehow keep the streak alive and approach the record, it will be interesting to see if the big three are still playing when the Heat will have locked up home court throughout the playoffs.
