He doesn't HAVE to pass it if the 76'ers don't require it. Eg: Bogut didn't pass a physical when he went to the Warriors. And - did we really dodge a bullet here? I thought Morey wanted Dwight...
I wonder if Philadelphia thought about OKC's rejection of Chandler after he failed a physical and then proceeded to turned around his health and career.
Yep. Most people here always think that Morey dodged XXX, however, IMHO while Morey is willing to gamble on bust factors and cancer, he's not willing to gamble on health after yao ming. Guys he passed on due to health reasons: *Blair (no MCL) *Amare (no physical) *Bogut (didn't make an offer for him) *Bynum (rumors said they were after DH) I guess you can point to DH, but this is the guy's first injury, and a doctor already said its not permanent.
Professional athletes over 7' tall are frequently much better after rehabbing after multiple major knee surgeries. FACT

Give me Marc Gasol, Tim Duncan, Brook Lopez, Al Horford, Joekim Noah, DeMarcus Cousins, or even Tyson Chandler over DeAndre Jordan...
He was fine when the trade went through over the summer. He and his docs went to Germany and got an injection, backfired. Then he went and bowled, that screwed up his left knee. Both things happened well after the trade. This is Bynum pretty much, he doesn't go to the extra mile to make sure he's ready to play basketball (2010 he missed 25+ games to begin the season after delaying surgery).
Both knees, yikes! I guess, why not? So is it considered season ending if his season never got started?
A player doesn't have to pass a physical for a trade to go through. The team can choose to take the player on regardless.
