This one first falls on Morey for making a trade during the wrong time. I'm not sure if it is a bad trade yet, but if we miss the playoffs, this will be part of the reason

As a coach, McHale should know how to use his players. All of them. No excuses.

Not even a bad game for D-Mo, more of a bad half, he was a part of that spur early in the 3rd, then he took a seat and we were outrnned. Dmo finished with +7, while every single other player finished in -

Not saying he had a good game, but really everyone has bad games and whole team was just blown out, putting this on a Rookie is low.

And last thing, he did ok in defense and we all know how good he is on offense, so let him shoot.

Give DMO time. He is 15-51 on the season.

Lin was 13-49 or 17-54 to start the season, almost exactly the same. Lin got better. I'm sure DMO will too.

I met D-Mo recently and had a conversation with him about this. He really dislikes how much the coaching staff really only has him as a deep threat option. He wants to bang in the post more, but when he starts to assert himself down low, he gets yanked from games. I told him they probably want him to gain some weight before they really trust him to do that, and he agreed.

He should come off the bench, let Robinson start for a couple games and see what happens

This makes sense, and I believe the story -- but I think DMo needs to pump fake and attack the basket a little bit more instead of just launching the three.

I agree that he will get better at the three in time, especially with an off-season to work on it (just like Parsons), but for now it is hurting the offense for him to shoot so many threes. I understand why the Rockets want him on the perimeter in order to space their offense, but he is more effective driving to the basket in order to create a passing opportunity or to create an improper post up situation.

I think it's pretty useless to put him out there if he's just camping out for 3's. His defense is still a work in progress. He doesn't contribute much more than Delfino at the 4 in that sense.

If we can't score on the break and settle into a half court set, I think we should give it to him in the post. Either he makes an attempt, finds someone on the move (especially Harden/Lin) or just pass back out to Harden/Lin to reset, shift out of the paint, and let them do their thing.

I also like the off the bench recommendation too.

McHale needs to do a better job of incorporating him into the offense - getting him post touches and absolutely no above the break 3's.

They shouldent pass to Dmo if they really REALLY need that 3. more often than not he misses. id give it to harden/lin/parsons/delfino 1st. what dmo needs is muscle...Fast. and time to develop that nice post game hes shown us.

I blame Lin and Harden for not feeding it to D-Mo when he does have good post-up position. I notice they usually wave him off or ignore him when he establishes position and calls for the ball. Whether this is by design (coaching) or all on the ballhandlers, I don't know. We had the same problem when Yao was here and he was a helluva lot more established than DMo

His shot wasn't falling. He did throw up a fair share of them, but all of them were wide open.

Tiago Splitter and Duncan start for the Spurs. They are frequently in the lineup together with penetrators.Duncan just moves to the high post or moves a little out of the lane no big deal at all.

Yao's problem was that he had very little athletic ability in comparison to the "little guys" guarding him.All you had to do was front Yao a la Golden State and Yao was ineffective. I don't know why you mentioned Shaq, he was a 20 and 10 guy as soon as he came in the league there was no problem in incorporating Shaq.

Duncan can shoot a long jumper all day long, so he can operate in the high post, Asik cannot.

Shouldn't this be addressed to Morey? The guy who made McHale play Dmo in this role despite the fact that they established this exact offensive philosophy with a stretch 4 all year long.

Or is this saying that we should change our offense entirely again with no practice time or training camp in the middle of the year and a playoff push? Because that is even more stupid than blaming McHale for Dmo playing the stretch 4. But oh wait, we don't play no offenze and we aint have none set plays, right? Idiots...
