It depends, if I see a mother/father stealing some food, then no. I don't know their circumstances and its very possible that they need it to survive. I would not want to be the reason for someone starving. If the person is stealing anything else, then I would report it.
So many folks on this thread...reasoning when stealing is appropriate...This is how morals get f'd up and loose meaning...dont steal and dont cheat the system...thats my opinion...everyone will have their own opinions...
I was going to say how disappointing it is to see all the posters saying it's none of their business, or they don't care, couldn't give two thoughts about it, etc., but I guess I expect nothing less anymore. Too many no longer care about the world around them and the well being of others at all, but they would expect others to care about them.
In a nanosecond, wouldn't even think twice about it! It's sad that the question is even asked! .............. .............. ..............
I would drag them outside by their hair and start beating them with a stick. Then after they've been critically injured, I would take whatever they stole home with me. No authorities needed.
Shoplifting is not the same as kidnaping, regardless no one is touching any of my Homies! So relax. ........... ........... ...........
Definitely wouldn't report a kidnapping. If you got kidnapped, you probably got mixed up with some gangbangers
'Course, I will. It is illegal to do so and if you can help it that they won't do it again, why not? It's not really "business" if they're stealing. I'd suppose you wouldn't want me to tell on someone stealing from your house, then?
No, since I'm aware of such theft all of the time. Heck, when I worked at Wal-Mart I was aware of thousands being stolen from the store constantly. I'm not a snitch (the scheme involved several employees including management). If was questioned about it, I wouldn't lie. It is so easy to steal from big box retailers that only idiots get caught. I think I've only gone as far as telling people where there are wholes in their security.
let me ask you a question. If you were the owner of the store would you want someone to tell you someone was stealing from you? All you would have to do is go to the mgr and let them know what you saw and walk away.
Not the same thing. You aren't responsible for the store or anything that others do in it. If someone steals something from you, of course you have a right to be pissed. I can answer this one for me. I wouldn't want someone stealing from my store if I had one, but it's my job and others who work at the store's job to catch any thieves. I don't expect anyone to come up to me and tell me that they saw someone shoplifting nor would I hate it if someone didn't.
