Anyone been following this? It's been mentioned in the news as "escalating". Can someone explain it to me? I'm a little confused about the sequence of events and who's blaming who. Were the marines Indian or Italian? And why can't the ambassador leave?
Italian Marines capped 2 Indian fisherman because they mistook them for pirates....either in Indian waters or international waters(that's disputed). The marines were awaiting trial in India, but were granted permission to go home temporarily to vote. They didn't come back...surprise, surprise. India got pissed and have decided to keep the Italian ambassador from leaving the country.
