I would too since he was the only player that was consistently hot throughout the game. He should have definitely shot more instead of passing to his team to just brick it up. But I think by still deferring it will garner respect and is probably a good thing in the long term.

I thought the same at the one game I was at. Any time Harden was the sole defender he was pretty much just an orange cone. Maybe his foot is killing him and he can only get fired up for offense.

Maybe he should contemplate that playing a little defense on Clay Thompson might have been the difference tonight instead of leaving him wide open again and again and again.

I wanted to post about that. that was the first time I saw harden yelling at somebody. I really liked it. I think he's more and more engaged this team.

This was within their grasp. But sometimes shots don't fall and that happens.

However, stil doesn't excuse the horrible defensive awareness by harden. Those very open threes by Thompson in the third quarter totally killed the momentum. He's not lazy; just doesn't have defensive awareness. Got caught watching the ball way too many times to lose Thompson. Not yet a superstar.

The harden iso's over and over again to start the 4th were also horrible decisions. Harden should not play pg in Q4 or down the stretch. His way of playing pg is dribble the ball down to 5 seconds and drive or kick. They started doing that way too early tonite.

Disappointing loss. No moral victory in this one.

Oh and Harden skipping out before press got a chance to interview? You're the franchise player and one of the leaders of the team. Act like one.

Thanks for sharing. I saw Parsons & Harden jawing at each other out on the court as well when Harden passed to Chandler & Parsons turned it over. Maybe that is why Harden just left. Was really annoyed that we lost.

Harden's offensive impact is just as big as his defensive impact

He really wants to win, but I felt some sort of disconnect from him to the team. Especially sitting all alone at the end of the bench during a timeout where the whole team is in the huddle. Maybe he just wasn't feeling it tonight.

Question: I saw this argument on twitter that Harden gives up on the defensive end nearly as many points as he puts up on the offensive end. What are your thoughts? I think yes on his not so good games he can do that but on the games where he is crazy efficient like 46 points on 20 shots he doesn't.

Thats just immature, he's by far the best player on this team and he should be the leader. Being the leader means you take it upon yourself, good or bad and hold yourself accountable beyond anything else.

Harden being upset is justified, the guy has carried this team on his back far too many times. That being said, he needs to tighten up on his defense. On some nights harden makes average shooting guards look like super stars.

Only our starting guards showed up tonight. Starters 3-5 and the bench were an embarrassment.

Was he really? Hmm that is probably why Parsons tweeted out stay together. Tempers were high tonight. A team meeting may be necessary.

Good comparison is the "Melo" factor. Offensive juggernaut but his slack on defense does impact the final scores in big ways. However, team defense > individual defense so I'll cut him some slack.

I didn't like that he yelled at Delfino for the shot clock violation though. Delfino didn't get the ball until like 2 secs left.

Offense impacts defense, when the team is feeling it everyone plays hard on both ends, so yes, it's an effort issue, sometimes he simply takes time off on the court which is inexcusable.

He's capable of playing lock down D, but he doesn't try nearly enough. And this whole yelling at teammates thing just rubs me the wrong way, I can live with an offensive genius with defensive inadequacies -- but you can't have that kind of attitude when YOUR team is losing.

Harden needs to man up and hold himself accountable, then we go ahead and talk about him being a leader.

Harden is the scorer of the team. Lin is the leader.

Keep thinking he's not a problem.

Beverley over the past six games:

    1 PPG. 10% FG.

Averaging 1 freaking point per game on 10% shooting.
