These Rockets have definitely overachieved so far. The youngest team in the league are usually the worst team in the NBA, this is expected
This team is obviously not built to compete for a championship this year. Our roster moves lean heavily toward future high-end competitiveness. Heck, we're still trying to figure out our rotation with 16(?) games left on the season. One very positive during this home stretch is Lin. He seems to have taken more ownership as a leader of this team.
We have the youngest team in the league and you're surprised they're a little inconsistent? This team is actually REMARKABLY consistent considering it's youth and the fact this is their first season as a team. I'm not sure if it still holds true after getting Garcia, but before the trade deadline, our Rockets were on pace to be the youngest team to EVER make the playoffs. That's incredible, guys.
This team is coached to be a jump shooting team, you can't expect a team this heavily invested in jump shooting to be consistent. Add in some other coaching deficiencies and this team isn't going to win as easily as it should.
Im actually happy about our style/inconsistency. It is no secret that the rockets are 1 piece away from being a top 3 team in the league, but with their high variance approach they will be no less than 45% to win every game IMO against the elite teams in the west. If a couple bounces go our way and the rockets could be playing deep into May. I don't think a single other team below the 4 seed in the west has a chance of making a run. That being said we have to make the playoffs first...
no go to play when we're struggling shooting or you could say no go to play for the go to player watching Curry and Thompson getting so much screen makes me wanna throw my mouse at the monitor when the rockets is on half court offense when GSW was struggling they gave so much screens for Curry and Thompson or throw it download to D.Lee
how bout this is the 1st year for each of them being together an none of them started a full season plus the age.
Least experienced team in NBA history. We're a complete anomaly that we've won more than we've lost. 'Consistency' for this team should be nightly thrashings, and the odd win here and there.
Rockets have attempted the most 3-pters in the league. When you shoot a lot of 3-pters, even when good at it like the Rockets, you will be up and down. Have an off night and you will be toast. Have an on night and no one can beat you.
This has nothing to do with McHale. Carl is correct that the team became inconsistent after the trade. This happens when you trade your starting pf and his backup. I understand what Morey is trying to do, but if the goal was to make the playoffs, then he should have kept one of Patterson or Morris. Right either one of them are better than D-mo or Trob. This team is in turmoil and in serious danger of missing the playoffs. Think what you will, missing the playoffs would be a tremendous disappointment for the coaches and the players.
